Toya Bush-Harris responded to the backlash surrounding her marriage.

Married to Medicine” star Toya Bush-Harris is no stranger to criticism or controversy. During a recent episode, Toya and Dr. Eugene Harris clashed at a party they were hosting at their new home. Guests and fans of the show were not pleased with the way Toya spoke to Eugene in these scenes. Dr. Heavenly Kimes and Toya also clashed over this after Heavenly didn’t hold back her thoughts on what transpired.

Toya also had tension with Dr. Mimi Sanders after she encouraged Toya to tap into her “femininity” when she was speaking to Eugene.

Fans of the show have been critical of Toya on social media. They believe Toya’s obsession with luxury is why Eugene has to work a lot.

Well, Toya had something to say about all of this during her recent interview with Angela Yee.

She said, “I think the people just mad, and I don’t know why, because we as Black women deserve all of that. We deserve a man that’s like I want to take care of you. We deserve to have a man that is intelligent, and that is setting the way for our children. He is a great example to follow, and so why are you hating on this man for wanting to spoil his wife?”

Toya added, “Let’s be clear. I make a lot of money, and he knows it. I just told him the other day, Hey, you should be very happy you don’t have to pay for any of this. But when I need you to, you can, and I appreciate that.”

When Angela asked Toya how the finances are split, Toya said she originally paid any bill under $100 when they were newlyweds, and she was working as a pharmaceutical rep.

She went on to say, “If the bill was under one hundred dollars, that was my bill. Now it’s not like that. I pay for my son’s tuition, which is about thirty thousand per kid. I pay for anything they have to do as far as their clothing. I pay for all our homes. Any down payments for our homes and any of the furniture.”

Toya said Eugene pays the mortgage. She paid the down payment for their current home, which was $600,000.
