‘Married to Medicine’ Highlights: Toya & Heavenly Clash in Texts + Eugene is Tired of Manhood Shade

In the latest episode of “Married to Medicine,” Toya and Eugene confront the group’s criticisms of how they communicate in their marriage. Here are the highlights for “Baggage Check.”

Toya and Eugene hash it out.

Eugene suggests he and Toya hash things out over a game of pool. He hates that they clashed in front of the other couples during their house party. At the time, he didn’t realize how much the party meant to Toya. He also realizes that it bothers him when the other women emasculate him, so it bothered him for Toya to tell him he needed to lead the men. Eugene feels like Toya said it in a hurtful way.

Regardless, Eugene apologizes for what he feels was him playing too much at a time when Toya wanted him to be serious. When Eugene asks Toya what she did to make the situation negative, she says she was pushy, and she shouldn’t allow the group to pull her into a negative scenario or argue. She shouldn’t argue with Eugene either.

Toya feels she can speak more affirmations to Eugene as she does to their sons. She appreciates how hard he works for his family.

Cecil and Simone vent to their siblings.

Simone grabs a bite to eat and catches up with her sister Carmen. She recaps the blowup she recently had with Cecil and their son, Michael. She feels that Cecil sat there and did nothing while Michael disrespectfully spoke to her. So she feels unsupported.

Cecil’s brother David visits Cecil. David moved to Atlanta recently. He’s happy to be around Simone and Cecil more since his divorce has been tough. Simone called David recently and was very emotional. He urges Cecil to tend to his marriage because once their nest is empty, Simone will be the only one he can depend on.

The difference in parenting styles is upsetting for Simone. She says Cecil’s father was very strict, and it’s like he has worked hard to be the complete opposite. This has forced Simone to become more like Papa Whitmore.

Cecil’s perspective is that he always strived to make sure their sons never had to struggle or stand in any financial aid line for three hours like he had to.

David understands but wants Cecil to remember that he’s been too focused on what he wants. He and Simone are a team, and they have to be on the same page.

Simone breaks down, telling Carmen she is so tired. Carmen consoles her as Simone says something has to give.

Toya and Heavenly clash in the group text.

Heavenly and Mimi discuss their messy group text. Toya texted them all on Father’s Day, saying she appreciates Eugene a lot. In response, Heavenly told Toya she should tell Eugene that.

Heavenly says she said this because Toya has a history of disrespecting Eugene. Producers flash back to past scenes of Toya disrespecting Eugene over the years. In Heavenly’s opinion, Toya should start praising Eugene in front of the group because she has made a habit of disrespecting him in front of them.

Mimi thinks Heavenly’s advice is good, but Toya wouldn’t receive it because they aren’t on good terms.

Toya discusses the text message beef with Simone. She thinks Heavenly was being messy, and she doesn’t need her advice because she has a “good husband and good kids.”

The husbands talk it out.

Eugene hangs out with Scott, Curtis and Damon. He says it felt like Heavenly threw a jab when she said Eugene likes the way Toya talks to him. Damon says it wasn’t necessarily a jab. Heavenly just meant Toya and Eugene may talk to each other unconventionally but it works for them.

In a green screen interview, Toya says she and Eugene don’t feel the need to be fake to please other people. They aren’t perfect. This is fine with them.

Damon says Heavenly has never said anything disrespectful to Eugene. Eugene gets this but stresses that the bigger offense is that she and the other women disrespect his manhood when they argue with Toya. Curtis says Toya gives it back just as good as she gets it.

Eugene knows Toya isn’t innocent but he thinks it’s absurd that Heavenly said he has a little ***** when Toya accused her of having a fake purse.

Curtis feels like all the men have been collateral damage at some point when the ladies fall out with each other. It’s just how it’s always been.

Damon thinks the women have to change to end the cycle. Eugene jokingly asks if he means they need to change wives.

Jackie is able to get Toya and Heavenly to drop their feud…for now.

Heavenly and Toya’s text beef is brought up when the women get together. Angel says it was shady for Heavenly to say what she did after she said Eugene’s manhood was small. Heavenly reminds them that Toya shaded her family first in an earlier text. Producers show a text of Toya telling Heavenly she should focus on her own family, especially on camera.

In a confessional, Heavenly says Toya should keep her family’s name out of her mouth if she doesn’t want hers talked about.

Toya tells Heavenly to keep Eugene’s name out of her mouth. Heavenly says Toya needs to stop talking crazy to him.

Jackie steps in to calm down the situation before it escalates further. She says Heavenly doesn’t have to throw a boulder if Toya throws a rock.

In a confessional, Toya says she didn’t throw a rock, more like sand. Heavenly throws boulders because she enjoys it.

Regardless of the back and forth, Jackie is able to make Toya and Heavenly agree to move forward. No more jabs for now.

  1. Toya is the girl in HS and College that saw past heavenly and even though Heavenly is successful she is still that unseen girl . Because why does she care so much about what Toya does with her husband, her money, etc. It’s weird.
