During the “Love and Marriage: Huntsville” mid-season finale, LaTisha and Marsau prepare for an ’80s-themed party while discussing tension with Destiny and concerns about loyalty. At the party, Wanda questions multiple guests, and she and Nell get into an argument. Meanwhile, Kimmi and Maurice continue disagreeing about what was said in therapy and the direction their counseling is taking.
Here’s the recap for, “Respect your Yell-ders.”
LaTisha and Marsau plan an 80’s themed party while addressing Destiny.
LaTisha shows Marsau ideas for an ’80s-style school dance party and says the goal is to enjoy time with friends. When discussing the guest list, she says she is unsure about Destiny’s loyalty. LaTisha explains that during the winery trip, Destiny defended Nell and made excuses for her behavior, which made LaTisha question where Destiny stood.
Marsau advises against repeating things heard about other people’s relationships and warns that spreading rumors can backfire. LaTisha is hesitant to invite Nell because she does not want any arguing and says that if Nell tries to start an argument, she plans to disengage. They end the conversation by brainstorming a playful rap-style invitation for the party.
Wanda puts on her best “blogger” impression at LaTisha’s party.
Wanda arrives and immediately asks guests about their relationships, who was invited, and who is no longer involved. Some guests clarify that certain relationships are platonic or over. Wanda presses Marsau about online discussions and interviews involving LaTisha and rumors tied to blogs.
She then confronts Martell about the comments he made about her daughter. Martell says the conflict went both ways, acknowledges past low blows, and says he wants to move forward and enjoy the night. Marsau reiterates that he wants to move forward and does not expect Wanda to understand private issues between him, LaTisha, and others. The scene ends with guests dancing, including Nell showing ’80s-style moves.
Nell and Wanda clash but eventually apologize.
LaTisha says Destiny was invited but did not receive a follow-up because she did not respond to a message. Destiny was disappointed not to receive a personal invite and believed they were in a good place after the winery trip. LaTisha brings up Destiny switching cars during the winery outing, which Destiny says she thought was already resolved.
The discussion escalates as Nell and Wanda argue, referencing past misunderstandings and comments involving spouses. Latricia notes that bringing Wanda into the conversation added tension. As the exchange continues, boundaries around discussing marriages are raised, and Nell apologizes to LaTisha for comments about her marriage. LaTisha accepts the apology.
Kimmi and Maurice disagree about therapy.
During their first date since therapy began, Kimmi and Maurice discuss how the sessions are going. Kimmi says therapy has helped Maurice reach breakthroughs and asks whether he finds it helpful. Maurice says he values having two therapists because they offer different perspectives.
They disagree about how the therapists addressed his expectations within the relationship and whether those concerns were framed as something that needed to change. Kimmi says Maurice hears what he wants to hear, while Maurice says his perspective was misunderstood. The disagreement continues as they debate whether past expectations were consistent earlier in their marriage. Kimmi says both of them have changed over time and wants to find a middle ground, while Maurice says he does not believe there is one. The conversation ends without resolution after a producer tells Maurice not to say he thinks they will get a divorce.
