In the latest episode of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” Stacey clashes with Wendy and Jassi as her authenticity is questioned. And Angel becomes emotional as her Colorado trip continues to disappoint. Here are the highlights for “Driving on Empty.”
Angel and Gizelle have different plans for the group.
The episode picks up from the continuation of Gizelle attempting to take over Angel’s trip. Angel planned for the ladies to do some fly fishing and have a nice lunch with handsome men. Gizelle proposes they instead go to a nice hotel and have brunch before heading back home. In a confessional, Keiarna says it is messy for Gizelle to try to take control from Angel. It is Angel’s trip, and Gizelle needs to let her do the things she had planned.
When Gizelle asks Angel if she’s open to spending the night at the hotel, she says she has to check with Bobby first. In a green screen interview, Gizelle says she is tired of hearing Angel bring up Bobby all the time. Producers flash back to scenes of Angel bringing up Bobby repeatedly to the other women. Regardless, Gizelle says the decision doesn’t have to be made now.
Stacey and Jassi discuss their issues.
Jassi and Stacey discuss their tension in the car ride to the next activity with Wendy. Stacey took issue with Jassi recently exchanging phone numbers with Charrisse. Stacey thinks Jassi wasn’t being loyal since Charrisse accused Stacey of trying to hook up with a married man.
Jassi questions how she’s supposed to move in the group if multiple people dislike Stacey. Wendy then says that Ashley said Stacey wasn’t planning to attend Jassi’s wedding until she learned that Wendy and Ashley were going.
Stacey’s defense is that she had things to do to launch her cannabis business, and Jassi says Stacey was informed of the wedding date well before she launched the business.
Wendy tells Stacey it is okay if she plays games with the other women, but she needs to be truthful with her actual friends.
Wendy clashes with Stacey.
Monique, Gizelle, and Ashley are talking in another car. Ashley thinks Wendy is trying to protect Stacey by suggesting that Angel could have been the person who repeated Monique’s past comments to Chris Samuels. Wendy suspects this since Angel and Bobby know Chris. Ashley doesn’t think Angel would do something like this because she’s more of a girls’ girl. At this point, Monique doesn’t think anyone is a credible source.
Ashley goes on to say that she asked Chris if he slept with Stacey the last time she saw him. And he didn’t answer the question and took a sip of his drink instead. So Ashley thinks it was his shady way of confirming he slept with Stacey. Gizelle agrees.
Meanwhile, Wendy goes off on Stacey about hesitating about attending Jassi’s wedding.
Stacey goes on to say that the real reason she and Jassi didn’t speak for months is that Jassi tried to record their phone conversation.
Jassi’s defense is that she didn’t mean to record, and she even expressed shock and confusion at her mistake during the conversation.
The ladies decide it’s time to end the trip after Angel, Tia, and Keiarna get lost and end up about three hours away from the fishing spot. Monique, Gizelle, Ashley, Wendy, Jassi, and Stacey stop at a gas station to eat and vent.
Wendy disappoints Stacey.
Stacey and Jassi’s tension is brought up in front of the group. Wendy becomes irritated again and calls out Stacey in defense of Jassi. This results in Stacey walking away. After Ashley and Wendy follow behind to check on her, Stacey says she is willing to travel back home by herself. As far as she’s concerned, Wendy isn’t being a real friend, and she is hurtthat Wendy would call her out in this way in front of the others.
Wendy feels like she’s been defending Stacey quite a lot, and she still loves her. But she thinks friends should be able to hold each other accountable.
They are eventually able to hash it out and give each other lukewarm hugs.
The episode concludes with the standard end-of-season updates for the cast. Stacey and Thiemo are still going strong with no plans to remarry as of yet. If they do remarry, Jassi will not be invited.
Gizelle’s two-year legal battle over her father’s will is over. Unfortunately, she lost. However, she is happy her daughter Angel joined her sorority.
Wendy and Eddie were arrested for insurance fraud. If found guilty, they face up to 15 years in prison.
Ashley has broken up with Josh several times. She is working on a children’s book.
Keiarna and Greg are “better than ever.” He still hasn’t proposed or bought anything else from the jewelry store outside of the picture frame.
Tia is still building a relationship with her sister.
Angel and Bobby still live in Colorado, but they recently purchased a $2 million home in Potomac.
The episode ends with producers showing Karen walking out of prison two months later. She is visibly shaken and emotional as the driver takes her home.
