BBWLA is over.

Hours ago, Shaunie Henderson took to social media to reveal “Basketball Wives” has been canceled.

“I wanted to jump on here real quick before the news got out and people try to be messy and make this something that it’s not. This is just called growth and moving forward. I’m announcing today that ‘Basketball Wives’ will not be returning. Since its launch in 2010, this franchise has been the defining part of my professional journey. What began as a vision to tell my story and stories of other women like me grew into a cultural movement that created opportunity, sparked conversation, and honestly amplified voices that deserved to be heard.”

She continued, “I’m so grateful to VH1, Truly Original, Shed Media, and BET for their partnership and belief in a show that left a long-lasting mark on entertainment. Most importantly, I’m thankful to the women who trusted me with their stories and the creatives in front of and behind the camera who helped bring this vision to life season after season.”

Evelyn Lozada and her daughter’s interview with The Game has resulted in criticism.

The cancellation comes after the last season resulted in backlash from fans. Many felt the show had turned dark, with the focus on Jackie Christie and Chantel Christie’s altercation. As of yet, the reason behind the show’s cancellation has not been revealed.

In related news, “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada has been busy podcasting with her daughter Shaniece Hairston. They recently interviewed The Game, and well, there were some controversial moments. Shaniece and The Game share a child. Many on social media couldn’t believe that Shaniece had no idea The Game was a felon.

Evelyn asked the rapper how he felt about being brought up on the show. Shaniece recalled Jennifer Williams telling Evelyn that her daughter had a baby by a felon, so she can’t shade Christian Gold.

Shaniece said, “They called you a felon.”

The Game responded, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean…true.”

Shaniece then asked, “Are you a felon?”

He answered, “I am. So, I don’t feel slighted by someone trying to like throw my past at me. Yeah, I’m a felon. My Momma know I’m a felon. My kids know I’m a felon, my fans know I’m a felon, and that’s just what it is. I don’t try to duck who I am as a person. Have I…am I in jail? Absolutely not. I made some mistakes in the past. Yes, I have.”

  1. The Show was great in the beginning but Evelyn and Jackie’s Toxicity was just too much.. Shaunie I’m excited for your next project and your Marriage…

  2. Think EVERYONE was/is pretty much OVER “Basketball Wives” after that fiasco last year with Chantel and her shenanigans

  3. Shania thought that she had hit the jackpot and she didn’t. He ain’t banking like that! Now, Evelyn lozada can’t say anything about Jennifer Gold’s husband cause Game is a felony too! 😂😂😂

    1. @Judy Williams Comparing The Game to Christian Gold is crazy work! Both may be felons, but that is where the similarity begins and ends. Christian Gold has “ongoing tendencies”. The Game does not.

  4. About time this degenerate show has finally been taken off the air. Sistas were dealt a bad deck of cards with this show for 16 years. Shaunie strung all these women along with the promise of “spinoffs” and now she a 1st lady of a mega church she wanna dump these chicks cuz noone watching this travesty anymore. MOST of them were not married to any basket ball plyers except for jackie christie to be honest

  5. I liked the show! I will miss Evelyn and all the girls. Basketball Wives was no better or worse than the shows currently on TV like the Love and Hip Hop franchises and all the Real Housewives shows. And as for The Game being a felon…so what? I have felons in my family. They did their time and are working, providing for their families now. Many in the comments acting holier than thou and tossing all kinds of stones. Gimme a break!! 😳😩
