Evelyn Lozada became emotional while discussing the end of “Basketball Wives.”
Shaunie Henderson recently took to social media to reveal that “Basketball Wives” was canceled. News of the show’s cancellation comes after yet another very controversial season. Fans of the show couldn’t believe Jackie Christie and her daughter got into a physical altercation while filming.
Evelyn Lozada addressed the show’s cancellation on the podcast she records with her daughter. She broke down in tears.
“My emotion doesn’t come from the show ending. It comes from…I mean, that’s emotional too, but how many people depended on the show. So many people loved working on the show. It wasn’t an easy show to work on, but we were family. I saw people have kids, get married. I’m like, I became a grandmom. So it was such a long journey that I’m so grateful for.”
She continued, “I always say it was like a double-edged sword for me. It truly, truly was because although it was helping me accomplish all these beautiful things in my life, it was also tough because I was so open with my life. It was one of those things that wasn’t easy.”
Evelyn will miss a lot of the people who worked behind the scenes.
“There are so many people you love, and you’re excited to see, and you’re like, okay, what are we doing this season? I’ll miss that.”
Shaunie took it hard, according to Evelyn.
“I know that this was tough for her. This was really, really tough for her because she knows that a lot of people depending on this. And that’s what she really looks at.”
