Evelyn Lozada became emotional while discussing the end of “Basketball Wives.”
Shaunie Henderson recently took to social media to reveal that “Basketball Wives” was canceled. News of the show’s cancellation comes after yet another very controversial season. Fans of the show couldn’t believe Jackie Christie and her daughter got into a physical altercation while filming.
Evelyn Lozada addressed the show’s cancellation on the podcast she records with her daughter. She broke down in tears.
“My emotion doesn’t come from the show ending. It comes from…I mean, that’s emotional too, but how many people depended on the show. So many people loved working on the show. It wasn’t an easy show to work on, but we were family. I saw people have kids, get married. I’m like, I became a grandmom. So it was such a long journey that I’m so grateful for.”
She continued, “I always say it was like a double-edged sword for me. It truly, truly was because although it was helping me accomplish all these beautiful things in my life, it was also tough because I was so open with my life. It was one of those things that wasn’t easy.”
Evelyn will miss a lot of the people who worked behind the scenes.
“There are so many people you love, and you’re excited to see, and you’re like, okay, what are we doing this season? I’ll miss that.”
Shaunie took it hard, according to Evelyn.
“I know that this was tough for her. This was really, really tough for her because she knows that a lot of people depending on this. And that’s what she really looks at.”

The Show became toxic and violent..
Evelyn and Jackie destroyed it…
There are women who were really beat up and abused by men and Evelyn got a head butt and destroyed a career ..
Jackie fought her daughter for telling her she wasn’t sh-t …
Love Shaunie and the show …
I will most definitely miss the show! Evelyn and OG were my favorites. 🥰💛 Sadly, all good things do come to an end, right?
I am wishing all the ladies the best. It’s been real!! 😘👍
@Lizalaine Burnett Hey there. You loved Evelyn and OG on the show, two women who didn’t care for each other. You didn’t take sides! How? I love that!! Keep at it, my friend. God Bless. 💯👍
Yeah you’re going to be sad that the show is canceled but what you have to understand is that this last season is what made it be canceled. Like what was production thinking 🤔 allowing something like that to be aired. Oh well bye bye Basketball 🏀 Wives.
It was a good show but Tami was the show for me. When she left, that was kinda it for me.
I watched every now and then.
ITA. Tammy was my fav. Stopped watching when she left, and only caught episodes here and there before she left for good. Last episode for me after sprinkles of episodes was the colorism episode, and think it was a season finale’. That was it for me – forever.
Toxic show and poor look for women of color as time went on. As a light skin person I was taught we were not special because of it, and darker skin person wasn’t less than. I heard about Jackie and daughter physically fighting, and was shocked at how low the show had gone. Could they have gone any lower? SMH
