Kandi says she has covered school tuition, extracurricular activities, and caregiver costs while working on Broadway.

Kandi Burruss responds to her estranged husband Todd Tucker in an ammended court filing this week. She outlines detailed claims about unpaid child-related expenses by Todd and how. She is also asking the court to order temporary child support and set a parenting schedule.

In documents obtained by Urban Belle, Kandi alleges that Todd has not contributed to private school tuition, uniforms, textbooks, enrollment fees, or school supplies for their two children. She also states that she pays 100 percent of the costs for extracurricular activities. These activities include Jiu-jitsu, chess club, basketball, Mandarin tutoring, English tutoring, and dance.

Kandi further claims Todd attended two recent birthday parties for the children. However, he did not contribute financially despite being asked to assist with expenses.

Kandi challenges Todd’s claim that he has been the primary caregiver.

The amended motion directly disputes Todd’s earlier claim that he has served as the children’s primary day-to-day parent. Kandi states that Todd has been living in a detached guest house on property she owned prior to the marriage. She also states he has not paid utilities, lawn care, gas, water, pest control, or alarm system expenses connected to the home.

Kandi acknowledges she has been working on Broadway in New York since November 2025 and will remain there through March 2026. However, she states that she regularly flies home to spend time with the children. She pays for a full-time caregiver who lives in the home and transports the children. The caregiver also prepares meals, assists with homework, and manages daily routines. She alleges Todd has not contributed to those caregiver expenses.

The filing also references Todd’s travel, including trips to the Bahamas and Breckenridge, Colorado. Kandi claims that despite traveling domestically and internationally, Todd has not paid child support or contributed to the children’s monthly expenses. This has been the case since the divorce filing.

Kandi also disputes prior statements regarding Christmas travel, stating that she paid for the children’s flights and the caregiver’s travel to New York. She states that Todd did not cover those costs or fly with the children on the initial trip.

Kandi is asking the court to order temporary child support and establish custody guidelines.

In the amended motion, Kandi requests that Todd share the children’s expenses on a 50/50 basis. She asks the court to establish a temporary parenting plan covering regular time, holidays, and school breaks. Additionally, she states that she believes Todd is a good father. Nevertheless, she argues that court intervention is necessary to ensure consistent financial support and structured parenting arrangements. This should be in place while the divorce is pending.

Todd argues he has been the parent consistently living with and caring for the children.

As news spread of the current filing, Todd wasted no time in filing his response via his attorney. In the response, also obtained by Urban Belle, he disputes Kandi’s claims and asks the court to designate him as the temporary primary custodial parent while the divorce case continues. He states that while Kandi has been living in New York for her Broadway engagement, he has remained in Georgia with the children. He also handles their daily routines alongside the nanny, including morning preparation, school transportation, evening supervision, and bedtime responsibilities.

Todd also pushes back on claims that he failed to contribute to birthday celebrations and other expenses, stating he was not included in planning decisions and was invited as a guest rather than consulted as a parent. He further claims that Kandi unilaterally moved his belongings to the guest house on the property after their separation. Afterward, she later stopped using their joint account to cover household expenses, which he says created confusion about financial responsibilities.

Regarding caregiver costs, Todd argues that the full-time live-in nanny was hired primarily due to Kandi’s work commitments and extended time away from home. He and the nanny have functioned as the primary caregiving team during her absence. He also disputes claims that his travel interfered with parenting duties, stating his trips were brief and did not disrupt the children’s routines.

Todd ultimately asks the court to deny Kandi’s request to the extent it conflicts with his position. He also asks the court to establish a temporary custody arrangement granting him primary physical custody and decision-making authority. In addition, he requests that the court determine child support according to Georgia guidelines based on both parties’ incomes and parenting time.
