During the “Belle Collective” season premiere, Lateshia films the pilot for her talk show with LAMH’s LaTisha. Afterwards, she addresses strain in her marriage to Glen during counseling. Next, Marie tells her daughter Zuri that she ended things with Cedric after discovering he was still communicating with his ex. Lastly, at Kerri’s 90s-themed birthday party, Glen reads a poem to Lateshia and asks if she still loves him. However, her hesitation makes the moment uncomfortable.
Here’s the recap for, “Poetic Injustice.”
Lateshia films the pilot for her talk show and opens up about Glen.
The new season kicks off with Lateshia Pearson stepping into a new lane as she films the pilot for “The Lateshia Pearson Show.” She welcomes her first guest, LaTisha Scott, and introduces her as a boss, mom, CEO, commercial real estate investor, and community leader. During their conversation, LaTisha discusses prioritizing her children and husband while pursuing her real estate broker’s license. She is also working on a second master’s degree in real estate development. She further reflects on previously receiving a monthly allowance from her husband and shares advice she once received about stashing money for security.
The two discuss balancing business and family, evolving gracefully in the public eye, and maintaining sisterhood despite challenges.
After the taping wraps, Lateshia feels confident about how the show turned out. However, she admits the real work is just beginning. She reveals that building her own platform has not always been fully supported at home. Having been with Glen since she was 17, she says she has grown tired of feeling financially dependent and having to clear decisions. Lateshia makes it clear that developing her own financial stability is now personal. She says she no longer wants to feel “stuck under Glen’s thumb” and is focused on elevating herself. Even if that means having difficult conversations in her marriage.
Marie tells Zuri why her relationship with Cedric ended.
In another emotional moment, Marie sits down with her daughter Zuri after noticing she seemed frustrated. Zuri reveals that her father, Cedric, showed up to her practice without calling first. That leads Marie to explain what has been happening behind the scenes.
Marie says Cedric previously expressed that he wanted his family back and apologized for past behavior. She agreed to forgive him but made it clear she had zero tolerance for him dating other women while they were together. However, she recently discovered he had been in constant communication with his ex-girlfriend the entire time they had reconciled. Marie says she found emails, text messages, and other messages confirming the communication. She also learned Cedric is now back with his ex.
She tells Zuri she ended the relationship immediately and instructed Cedric not to return. Although she maintains a calm tone for her daughter, Marie admits she feels deeply betrayed. She says Cedric could have simply told her he wanted to go back to his ex instead of misleading her. Instead, she says she was left once again addressing infidelity and dishonesty in the relationship.
Lateshia and Glen seek guidance from Mr. Steve.
Lateshia and Glen sit down with counselor Steve Johnson, whom they’ve known for over 20 years. Glen explains that he arranged the session because their marriage has been on a “slippery slope” since the reunion. He tells Mr. Steve that he no longer feels like a priority in Lateshia’s life. Glen admits he is pulling at every possible option to save the marriage.
Lateshia says she is willing to take “baby steps” to make things work. Yet, she questions why they are back in counseling again. Glen describes himself as a traditional man who wants his wife home and present. Additionally, he feels the household has become the last item on her priority list.
He also admits he fears Lateshia is positioning herself to leave, even though he prays he is wrong. When Glen refers to Lateshia as “Miss Independence,” Mr. Steve challenges him and asks whether he believes she can love herself and become self-sufficient while still loving her husband. Lateshia explains that focusing on herself and establishing her own identity often makes Glen feel as though she is loving him less. As the session wraps, Mr. Steve says he still sees a strong couple but stresses they must decide what they truly want. Lateshia leaves the conversation unsure whether things should be better by now. She questions where they go from here.
Latrice’s tension with Lateshia spills into Cliff’s friendship with Glen.
Latrice meets with her staff to address ongoing management and dress code issues at the business. She points out that employees are not following uniform standards, specifically mentioning red lipstick requirements and inappropriate outfits. Although she tries to keep things light at moments, she makes it clear she expects structure and consistency moving forward.
Later, Cliff shifts the conversation to a more personal issue. He tells Latrice that her friction with Lateshia Pearson is beginning to affect his friendship with Glen Pearson. Cliff explains that when couples are at odds, it often forces friends to feel like they must choose sides. He encourages Latrice to eventually have a conversation with Lateshia. However, Latrice firmly states that there will be no interaction between the Rogers and the Pearsons.
She says both families can remain on separate sides to avoid conflict at upcoming events. The conversation then turns serious when Latrice discusses her recent health scare. She reveals that she was rushed to the emergency room after her leg became severely swollen and painful. Doctors discovered blood clots extending from her knee to her groin area and also in her lungs, requiring emergency surgery and a four-day hospital stay. Latrice says it was one of the scariest experiences of her life. Doctors still do not know what caused the clots.
Marie and Lateshia discuss their relationships ahead of Kerri’s 90s party.
Marie and Lateshia Pearson meet up ahead of the event and discuss what to expect, including who will be in attendance. Lateshia admits she isn’t ready for certain “energy” at the party but confirms Glen will be there. When Marie asks how things are really going in her marriage, Lateshia says she and Glen keep going through the same issues.
She describes the situation as draining and says she no longer wants that feeling in her life.
The conversation then shifts to Marie’s relationship. She explains that when she reconciled with Cedric, both of them had ended previous relationships and agreed there would be no more communication with exes. However, while using her computer, she discovered Cedric’s email was still open and saw messages from his ex-girlfriend. Marie says Cedric pretended to break up with his ex but never actually stopped communicating with her. She tells Lateshia she felt deceived after allowing him back into her life. When Lateshia asks whether Cedric will attend the party, Marie shuts down the idea. She makes it clear he will not be there. Despite the heavy conversation, Lateshia encourages Marie to focus on enjoying the 90s party for the night and deal with Cedric another time.
Tensions rise when Latrice interrupts Cliff and Glen’s conversation at Kerri’s party.
Lateshia arrives at Kerri’s party with Marie, making it clear she plans to “stay in her lane” and that the Rogers are not a factor for her. Meanwhile, commentary from others points out that both women arrive without their partners, referencing ongoing issues in their relationships.
Glen attends the party hoping to see where things stand with Lateshia after their counseling session. He also anticipates an awkward moment with Cliff, given the recent strain between their wives. Before any interaction can fully unfold, Latrice makes her stance clear. She instructs Cliff not to engage with Glen beyond a simple greeting. Latrice says she is protecting her energy by limiting contact.
Cliff and Glen begin discussing a previous situation that left feelings hurt, but the exchange is quickly interrupted. Latrice steps in, effectively shutting down the conversation. She states she is choosing to protect her peace and does not want Glen around her husband. The interruption causes visible tension, and Glen questions why he and Cliff cannot talk. As the party continues, the divide between the couples becomes more apparent. Latrice says that when it comes to Lateshia, having her out of her life is what she needs. She adds that she plans to ignore her presence entirely.
Kerri presses Marie about Cedric at the party.
Later, Kerri wastes no time getting straight to the point with Marie. She repeatedly asks what’s going on between Marie and Cedric, refusing to accept vague responses.
Marie makes it clear she is not in the mood to discuss Cedric with the group. She says the situation is on a “need to know” basis and insists that tonight is not the time to share details.
As the questioning continues, Marie says her prayer is to be surrounded by people who genuinely love her. When someone jokes that “Marie plus nobody equals single,” it becomes obvious that her relationship status has changed. Still, Marie chooses not to elaborate, maintaining that certain conversations can wait for another day.
Glen’s public romantic gesture puts Lateshia on the spot.
During Kerri’s 90s birthday celebration, the mood shifts when guests begin reciting poetry. Glen takes the opportunity to present a poem he wrote for Lateshia. He explains that he has written songs for her before and views poetry as another way to express his love.
In front of the entire party, Glen declares that choosing Lateshia was the best decision of his life. He says he is unapologetically in love with her. Glen promises to continue fighting for their marriage and says he is not stopping until he has his wife back.
He then directly asks Lateshia to confirm that she still loves him. The moment becomes tense when Lateshia hesitates instead of immediately responding. Guests begin reacting in real time, questioning why she is unsure. What Glen intended as a romantic public gesture quickly turns uncomfortable. Lateshia appears conflicted, and Glen visibly struggles with her hesitation.
