In the season finale of “Married to Medicine,” Toya and Eugene clash with Mimi and Steve over the planning of the Med Gala. Here are the highlights for “Med Gala Mishaps.”
Cecil and Simone get their family back on track.
Simone and Cecil have another sit-down with their sons, Michael and Miles. Everyone is nervous since it went wrong the last time they attempted to do this. Regardless, Simone apologizes to Cecil for the harsh language she used. But she wanted him to understand that she was upset because she felt disrespected by Michael. Cecil didn’t have her back when she needed him.
Michael apologizes for being disrespectful, and Cecil apologizes for not having Simone’s back in the moment.
Michael tells his parents that he doesn’t want to live off their money. He has dreams to make more money than them. In a confessional, Cecil and Simone talk about Michael’s drive. They believe he is a very ambitious young man, and he accomplishes his goals in life.
All Simone needed was genuine apologies, and she is grateful Michael and Cecil took the time to hear her out.
Eugene and Toya rub Steve and Mimi the wrong way.
It’s the evening of the Med Gala. Simone and Cecil are very impressed by what they see when they arrive at the venue. Toya has everything looking nice, and there is even artwork spread out all around. When Steve and Mimi arrive, Mimi is surprised to see that the event turned out nicely. She and Steve are also surprised when they learn they have to buy a $150 ticket for entry. Although Eugene tells them the money is for the students, Mimi says she thinks this was personal in a confessional.
Meanwhile, Eugene and Toya tell producers they don’t understand why Mimi and Steve didn’t think they had to pay an entry fee to a charity event.
Later, Steve pulls Eugene aside to say he didn’t like how the ticket situation was handled. He feels like he and Mimi were singled out. When Toya joins the conversation, she is baffled by how Steve came to this conclusion. She tells him that what wasn’t cool was Mimi and Steve not supporting the cause.
Toya claims she told Mimi all the details, and she said she was out. When Mimi comes over, Steve says that they were going to buy some artwork and contribute “much more than $150”. After Mimi tries to say that Brandi didn’t have to buy a ticket, Toya says Brandi bought her ticket earlier that day, and Simone bought ten tickets. In a confessional, Mimi says that Toya has something against her, and she doesn’t know why.
Curtis walks over to Quad and King with Jackie to apologize for the comments he made in Jamaica. In a green screen interview, Quad says Curtis has the right to his opinions. But the problem was that he was being judgmental.
Quad says a future with another man is possible.
Toya takes the stage to announce the recipients of the Med Gala scholarship fund. Two young women are given $5000 each. They thank everyone for the money, and Heavenly takes the mic to commend Toya on what she managed to do. In a green screen interview, Heavenly says Toya was very annoying, but she did a great job with the Med Gala. She was very impressed.
Mimi tells Jackie that Toya nailed it, and Jackie agrees.
During the end-of-season wrap-up, Simone says she has no interest in making peace with Heavenly, while Heavenly says she won’t hold a grudge, but she knows Simone will.
As for Quad, when producers ask her what she thinks the future holds for her and King, she says she can’t answer that. She could find love with someone else.
