Rapper DMX’s appearance on OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life was supposed to be a positive experience for all parties involved. However, it appears that the episode itself has caused lots of drama since the controversial premiere on the network. Iyanla claims that she’s genuinely concerned for DMX’s well-being, but the rapper feels she just used him and his personal issues for ratings. He even said through his spokesperson that he had no idea that Iyanla would be ask him about his alleged drug addiction, and he also feels that instead of fixing his life, she actually made it worse. DMX’s son Xavier said in a recent interview that he disagrees completely with DMX’s opinion on the show, and he even claimed that he feels DMX has ruined his own life. Since the appearance on the show, Xavier claims he hasn’t spoken to his father and he feels their relationship will continue to be non-existent because the rapper refuses to leave drugs alone.

DMX recently got in touch with TMZ and told the website that he feels he was set up by Iyanla, especially since he was told they would only discuss his addiction to women, not drugs. He also confirmed that he is considering taking legal action against the network. Here’s the report:

DMX is furious over his sit-down with Iyanla Vanzant on her show “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” which aired on OWN. During the chat Iyanla asked X about his rampant drug use and he didn’t hold back — appearing unhinged.

But DMX tells us … Iyanla pulled a fast one. She was supposed to ask him about his addiction to WOMEN … not drugs … and the dope questions were NEVER cleared beforehand.

He says, “Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings,” adding, “That lady is toxic … My last words to her were that she can suck my d**k and she still can.”

X tells us, he’s already contacted his team to explore legal options — and wants the footage removed from OWN STAT… or else.

As we recently reported, DMX’s recent appearance on Iyanla: Fix My Life was an explosive one. The rapper agreed to do the show in an attempt to salvage his relationship with his kids, but instead things didn’t really get resolved since DMX turned down his son Xavier’s request to give up drugs in exchange for a relationship. DMX said through a publicist after the show that he doesn’t feel Iyanla fixed his life, but actually made things worse. In particular, the rapper isn’t happy about how he looked on the show and feels Iyanla just made him look like nothing more than a drug addict. Well it looks like DMX isn’t the only one who has something to say about the episode. His son Xavier had an interview the other day and opened up about how things are since making the appearance on the show. When asked if he agrees that the show made things worse for DMX, Xavier tells DoloBeats.com:

“The older I’ve gotten, I’ve learned to see him as a person. I’m starting to see now he loves to play the victim role. At first, I don’t know if you guys caught on to this, he thought the show was going to be all about him. But when they started tackling the tough questions, he got on defense and just started flipping out. Just like this, it’s the same thing. You know, Iyanla did not make his life worse, he did that.”

On how his relationship is with his father now, he says:

“I feel it’s done. I mean, he would have to show me 100%. He’d have to move a mountain. A miracle. Just a complete turnaround, otherwise I’m not doing it.”

Xavier also admitted that he almost gave in to his father when DMX told him that he should still have a relationship with him despite his drug use because he’s not giving up the drugs:

“I almost gave in and gave him that hug. But I’m glad that Iyanla stepped in and said, ‘No, you don’t get that. This is about him and you just can’t ask for what you want. There’s no more bullying here.’ I almost caved. I’m glad I didn’t because that would have been, ‘Ok, I’m fine with that, you not wanting to get clean to have a relationship with me.’ I’m not. I was mad, I was upset about that. It hurts, I would love to have a relationship with him. I’m like him in a lot of ways.”

DMX was supposed to make a comeback to the rap game once he got released from prison, however, his return to music seems to be stalled due to his personal struggles of alleged substance abuse. The rapper’s estranged wife Tashera Simmons says things have gotten so bad for the former Ruff Ryders star that it’s caused him to be at odds with his own family and kids. So in an attempt to help him get the help he needs, she asked Iyanla Vanzant to feature him on her OWN show Iyanla: Fix My Life. The episode aired on Saturday, and of course it was an explosive one. Although Iyanla did attempt to tackle DMX’s issues with drugs, she also was able to get him to open up about his serious issues with his mother. Regardless, DMX is telling the media through his publicist that he feels Iyanla did not help him any, but actually might have made things worse. Here’s what his spokesperson tells AllHipHop:

“DMX agreed to be a guest on ‘Iyanla: Fix My Life’ with the understanding that she would be helping his relationships with his 10 children. When he arrived for the taping, most of the content was focused on his struggles with drugs and poor parenting. Iyanla did not ‘fix’ DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage.

“What the team does want DMX’s fans to know is that he is working on a new album that will include Swizz Beatz and we hope to also work with Timbaland, Dr. Dre, and Kanye West. Another announcement is his upcoming film ‘Blame It On The Hustle’ Mekhi Phifer and Ving Rhames.”

Rapper DMX is rumored to be battling drug abuse again, and it’s clear that he won’t be able to make a comeback in music if he doesn’t tackle his personal issues. His estranged wife Tashera Simmons made an appearance on TLC’s shortly lived reality show Starter Wives Confidential, and on the show she talked repeatedly about being concerned about her ex and confirmed that his issues have strained his relationship with their kids. DMX recently sat down with Iyanla Vanzant on OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life, and the encounter was an explosive one. The episode is set to premiere Saturday, April 13, at 9/8c; and many have already gotten a glimpse through sneak peeks of how intense the session was for both DMX and Iyanla.

Although DMX does spend most of his time screaming and cursing out Iyanla, there are some raw moments where viewers can begin to understand DMX’s personal struggles. In a recent clip released, DMX admits that he loves being in prison, but he also admits that his troubled relationship with his mother played a huge role in his current personal struggles.

On why he loves being in prison, the rapper says:

“I enjoyed it [being in prison]. I got three meals a day…clothes.”

He also began to get emotional when he started talking about his rocky relationship with his mom:

“Everyone wants their mother to want them. In one breath, I was mama’s little man, you want me in the house. In the next breath, I’m hard-headed, you want me out of the house…’You ain’t gon’ be sh*t.’ [starts crying]. Who am I mom? Who am I?”

Iyanla then asked the rapper who he believed he was, and DMX answered he feels he is a blessing to those who take the time to actually get to know him:

“I’m a blessing to whoever gets to really know me.”

If it hasn’t been made clear by now, we will go ahead and confirm that DMX is still battling some major personal issues that he now credits as a factor in the demise of his marriage to childhood sweetheart Tashera Simmons and even the source of his legal issues and abrupt ending to his successful rap career. Regardless, he’s been making some appearances on reality shows that were created to aid people in getting themselves together (Celebrity Rehab is his most recent), however, he’s still just not back on track and some people speculate that it could be due to alleged drug abuse.

DMX appears to be taking the route that most troubled celebrities are taking these days, and he agreed to make an appearance on Iyanla: Fix My Life. However, things got pretty ugly fast when Iyanla started to believe that DMX was acting under the influence of some kind of drug and she proceeded to then ask him if he was high during their session. And just like that, all hell broke loose.

While we can only imagine how the session ended, the preview clip of the upcoming episode was just insane, as it shows scenes of DMX yelling at Iyanla and telling her to “shut the f*ck up.” And then there’s that moment that Iyanla just snaps and tells DMX that he can never speak to her again. So with that being said, we’re pretty sure this episode is going to be an intense one.

DMX was arguably one of the biggest rappers on the scene back in the days of the Ruff Ryder crew, and although he was dating and eventually married his childhood sweetheart Tashera Simmons, their marriage was very rocky and hurtful amidst a music industry that didn’t seem to making marriage easier for rap stars. It’s no secret that DMX did a lot of cheating, but despite the cheating, Tashera held on for as long as she could. When DMX began to decline on the music scene and began to have back to back legal troubles and moments in prison, it got even harder for his marriage to Tashera to withstand. Then of course there are rumors that drug use that played a part in DMX’s demise, but even though Tashera held on to the relationship for as long as she did, the two did eventually divorce.

Although the former couple did appear on Couples Therapy together and seemed like they were trying to work things out, it would later be revealed that their relationship had ended and there was no chance of a reconciliation.

Tashera is obviously not done with reality television because DMX’s ex is set to appear on the upcoming reality show Starter Wives Confidential.

The show is a product of TLC and is said to following the former wives and ex girlfriends of celebrities as they attempt to move on in their lives. Some even speculate that these exes will also be exposing some of their former lovers.

During the press screening for the show, Tashera spoke on her relationship with DMX and claims she’s found her happiness and has moved on from a relationship  consisted mostly of cheating:

“I was 100% mother and wife. When I love, I love hard. [DMX] was great at what he did – which was cheating – but I’m happy as hell now. I’ve found someone very special in my life.”

Starter Wives Confidential will also feature the ex and baby mama of Lamar Odom, the ex-wife to Funkmaster Flex, as well as the baby mamas and former girlfriends of 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather.

Starter Wives Confidential premieres Tuesday January 29, at 10:00 pm EST on TLC.
