Buffalo Bills Get First Win Against The Colts

By: Taren Vaughan

After losing to the Washington Redskins, the Buffalo Bills didn’t start their preseason off on a good note. But thanks to rookie running back C.J. Spiller, the hopes for the team to make a turn around this season have become much more realistic. As a replacement for vets Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson, Spiller ran for a 31-yard touchdown, breaking two tackles on his way to the endzone.

Coach Chan Gailey on C.J. Spiller:

“I think you can see tonight why we drafted C.J.,” “Obviously, running the ball is what he does best. And he made an unbelievable run on that touchdown.”

Colts’ backup quarterback Curtis Painter had a better game this time around, completing a 38-yard and a 43-yard pass to teammate Taj Smith for a touchdown in his second series. Now everyone knows that Painter is no Peyton Manning. But he was able to produce during his time on the field. This is the second preseason loss for the Indianapolis Colts. But Manning says that this is the team’s time to improve in the areas that they are having some trouble in:

“We’ve still got some work to do. That’s kind of what preseason is for,” “You want everything to go perfect while you’re in there. That’s not always the case, but I think you’ve got to have those kind of expectations.” –Peyton Manning

As for the Buffalo Bills, their performance was much better. But the crowd attendance was not, as the stadium was under capacity by 14,000. Buffalo fans may need to see their team rack in a few more wins before they begin to flood stadium seats.
