Our generation is said to be one of the most intelligent generations this country has seen in a very long time. We’re pop culture obsessed, but we have made the advances in technology a huge part in our daily lives, and since we are internet savvy and intellectually gifted, it’s no surprise that we vary in our opinions and perceptions of the world around us. It’s a given that we won’t always agree on any given subject, but just why has it become trendy to persecute those that are still in alignment to God’s views?
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:1
“God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” Numbers 23:19
“If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.” Matthew 18:15-17
“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.” 2 Timothy 4:2
We are to judge sin, but to be sure that we offer a solution to that particular sin, and maintain a spirit of encouragement, not criticism.
Love this! I really needed to read this Amanda. I think so many of us are lost right now, and we need to get right before it's too late. Just accepting Christ as your savior, but balking at the Bible surely can't lead to Heaven.
Truth.
