Lil Scrappy was arrested today and taken to Dekalb County jail in Georgia. The ironic thing is no one might have even known that the rapper had been arrested, had he not announced it on his Twitter account:

DECATUR, Ga. — Rapper Lil Scrappy was arrested and booked at the DeKalb County Jail on Monday.
According to the DeKalb County Jail Tracking System, the 28-year-old rapper also known as Darryl Raynard Richardson is still in custody.
The rapper has been charged with a felony probation violation. It is unclear why he was detained.
No further information was immediately released.

While it hasn’t been confirmed why Lil Scrappy was arrested (it has not been revealed what the rapper did to violate his probation), we did a little digging. And we think that since Lil Scrappy was arrested and hand cuffed on the side of the road, he was most likely arrested for driving without a driver’s license. We can’t even recall one scene where we actually saw Lil Scrappy drive, and he’s even mentioned driving without a license in some of his recent songs. Here’s a recent review of his recent album that backs up that claim:
“Face Off” starts the album with a bang through its menacing synth, pounding bass and sped-up high hats. Lil Scrappy raps aggressively as he utters death threats to his foes with conviction. “Democrat” is also an effective street joint where the rapper talks about hood politics associated with the dope game. “No L’s” features a nice chopped-up synth as Scrappy flosses about his reckless lifestyle of riding around town without a driver’s license while staying high and strapped.
Sure, Scrappy could have done something worse like had a weapon or even drugs found in his possession, but we’re still thinking it’s because he was caught driving without a driver’s license. And in most states, if you’re on probation, that calls for an immediate arrest.
And we’re also thinking Lil Scrappy was put on probation for a fight he had with his sister’s old boyfriend, that resulted in Lil Scrappy getting stabbed and arrested. The report:
The Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star got into a little scrap back in 2008 that ended up with kid getting stabbed and arrested!
According to a report filed by WSBTV Scrappy, real name Darryl Richardson, responded to a call from his sister in which she told him she had been in an argument with her boyfriend. When Scrappy got to his sister’s apartment he got into it with this dude and wound up getting stabbed.
So why would a man who got stabbed defending his sister end up getting arrested? Yeah, about all that… According to authorities he was taken in for felony possession of marijuana, felony possession of a firearm/knife, and obstruction of officers.
He was released on $1,500 bond on July 20th, 2008 from the Dekalb Jail after receiving medical care for his wounds.
Of course, getting caught for driving without a driver’s license is only an assumption for now, and we’ll keep you updated as the story develops.

Yeah we really did not see hm driving on the show. That would explain why he was getting on Erica so hard about not driving him to the hospital too. I hope it all works out for the best. He has a lot to lose.

Thank you about time somebody tells the damn truth! Average a– reality tv people getting their heads gassed. It’s not that serious. There are plenty of well established corporate African Americans with way more financial stability & you would think the way society praises these fools they should have a lot more than they currently do!!! Let’s come back to earth. I would never want my child to be in their false sense of reality.

Lil Scrappy really needs to get it together. He’s not acting mature enough to be getting married.
Give him a chance..it could be something from his past that has caught up to him today. Hopefully, he is on the right track. He wasnt driving on the show so lets just say he has paid all his tickets and maybe a mistake was made in the system. Lets not be so quick to judge and pray that he is a black male willing to change and do better for himself and his family.
