Katy Perry and Rihanna used to be close friends. Although they met thanks to their involvement in the music industry, a solid friendship between the two has existed for the last few years. Not only do both singers prefer to sit next to each other at awards shows, but they discuss their loves lives with one another, and are usually present at each others events and life changing circumstances. Katy and Rihanna seemed to have gotten a little closer after Chris and Rihanna had that very nasty public breakup, which was a result of him assaulting her tragically in 2009. But now things have changed for Rihanna and Chris, as they appear to be rekindling their romance (even though Karrueche still isn’t completely out of the picture) publicly, something many feared would ruin Rihanna’s very high profile singing career.
Well if the latest gossip bears any truth, Rihanna’s relationship with Chris Brown is hurting more than her image, it’s also hurting some of her close friendships.
According to some reports, Rihanna and Katy Perry’s friendship has fizzled due to Rihanna’s rekindled romance with Chris Brown. Some sources are alleging that Katy Perry is severely disappointed that Rihanna would get back together with the same man who viciously assaulted her a few years ago, and the same guy who left her bloodied and bruised for the entire world to see.
A source tells the NY Daily News:
”They’re barely talking and ever since the couple reunited, there has been tension between them. Katy has been spending a lot of time with pals Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Katy fears Rihanna is making a huge mistake and doesn’t want to be part of it.”
We’re not sure how true this is, but we did find it strange that Rihanna wished Katy a happy birthday on Twitter and Katy didn’t seem to acknowledge it. Interestingly enough, she responded to the HBD tweets from other celebs though.
And we also found it kind of odd that Katy hasn’t really hung out with Rihanna since she’s been hanging out with Chris again.
This isn’t the first time that it has been speculated that some of Rihanna’s friends aren’t too thrilled about her reaching back out to Chris Brown on a romantic level. Just a few weeks ago, reports suggested that some of Rihanna’s pals felt the relationship was just too unhealthy to ever work.
Who knew goofy a– Katy Perry would have more sense than Rihanna does?
Hmm…honestly, I can’t say I blame Katy. The whole situation makes Rihanna look stupid and weak. I really think she is making a huge mistake. But everyone needs to let her learn for herself.

Katy has some sense I see. But the truth is Rihanna and Chris need to be back together in the public to finish where they left off. They need to see for themselves that this relationship will not work. They are grown, let them figure it out.
Wow, so some of Rihanna’s friends DO have some common sense. Her best friend Melissa (who looks like Wesley Snipes in drag) is nothing but a leech who’s just as dumb as Rihanna is. If most of her friends are like Melissa, Rihanna’s downfall is definitely impending. You need friends who will tell you the truth, not friends on your payroll.
Katie sees things for what they are and Rihanna doesn’t. When a man hits you, there is no coming back from that. I know Rihanna thinks she’s hot sh-t, but something tells me that her career is going to take a hit over Chris.
I love Rihanna. That’s my bish. But even I can be real and admit her being back with Chris is a HUGE mistake. She’s rich, successful, and fine as hell. But she wants Chris back, and I don’t really get it. I mean is it the dyck or what? There is better out here but she wants to be with Chris Brown. I would trying to be get at someone who was even more successful with me and who had some business about themselves. Chris is too immature for me.
Katy Perry needs to have a seat. Let RiRi live.
Rihanna is stupid. She only gets a pass because she’s famous and rich. Meanwhile they drag the hell out of Karrueche, but Chris didn’t whoop her a–. He whooped Rihanna’s. So in my book, she’s the bigger fool.
Yes!!! Rihanna does get a pass when she’s virtually no better than Karrueche. Had Rihanna not been famous or rich, people would drag her as hard as they drag Kae. It’s a stupid double standard that just proves that too many people worship celebrities.
This is the best comment on here. Rihanna’s “navy” is nothing but hypocrites. They clown Karrueche but praise Rihanna for being be even more foolish than Karrueche. At the end of the day, Rihanna is not making very good choices. She went on Oprah and started crying and wanting sympathy, but I am honestly running out of sympathy for her. She wants her abuser back and I have lost respect for her.
LOL Katy doesn’t want to tarnish her image and have Chris around her. I don’t blame her. That’s Rihanna’s “man,” she needs to keep that train wreck over there where she is.
Smart girl Katy! There was nothing cute about Chris and Rihanna’s relationship. It was unhealthy, abusive, and Chris wasn’t even faithful to her. Hell, he still isn’t faithful. What a waste of her time!
Katy is smarter than Rihanna obviously about this situation. But that’s because she not in it. Rihanna is hard headed and has to learn from pain. And obviously she didn’t hurt enough the first time. Some people are like that.
I think Katy is just sick of Rihanna and all her drma. C’mon Rihanna’s behaviour has been getting worse ever since the 2009 incident. Her real personality is gradually coming out.
