Rapper Eve’s career in rap took off when she was only 19. As the first lady of Ruff Ryders, Eve had to spend much of her career proving her toughness and lyrical abilities. Despite Eve proving herself in an industry dominated by men, she still managed to allow her soft side to fall in love with producer and now reality star, Stevie J. Eve credits Stevie as being her first love and one of the most unhealthiest relationships she’s ever been in. She may not miss being with the producer, but she does say it’s the sex tape is one aspect of the former relationship that she hasn’t quite managed to put behind her emotionally.
During a recent interview with MTV News, the female rapper made it clear that the whole sex tape situation that took place while the two were dating was very hurtful. Apparently while they were a couple, Eve and Stevie J. made a sex tape together. Somehow, the sex tape ended up being leaked on the internet, and whispers suggest that Stevie J. was responsible. However, Stevie J. denied that he leaked the tape and instead claims it was the doing of one of Eve’s own girlfriends.
Regardless. Eve admits the situation really did hurt her.
When it’s mentioned that Stevie J. thought the sex tape incident helped Eve blow up she says:
“It definitely didn’t. When that happened, sex tapes weren’t ‘hot’ like that, and I got the Fbi (Federal Bureau of Investigation) involved. So that’s not something I wanted to happen…”
The successful female rapper who coined the phrase. “pit bull in a skirt,” feels the tape was shameful to her family:
“I respect my mother and my family and that’s not something I am Ok with. And it hurt my heart that anyone who was in my circle – whether it be him (Stevie) or anybody else – it hurt my heart that that went out there. That wasn’t my thing.”
Meanwhile, Stevie J. still stands by his claims that he did not leak the tape. But he insists that he has no ill feelings towards Eve, simply tweeting her “God Bless” the other day when he caught wind of her recent remarks on their past relationship.
Why do I still think Stevie was responsible? He probably was broke and did it because he needed the money.
Eve is so lucky she didn’t get Mimi’d. She would have been stuck dealing with that dude for life. SMH
