Rick Ross Cancels Concert Due to Gang Threats

By: Amanda Anderson-Niles

Looks like Rick Ross has tougher people to worry about than 50 Cent. According to reports over the last few weeks, the rapper is in a beef with the Gangster Disciples gang. Apparently, through a series of videos, the gang has made it clear that they would show up to his concerts in North Carolina, the state that the chapter is said to reside. According to local news outlets, Ross was scheduled to perform in Greensboro on Friday, and Charlotte on Saturday. In addition to Ross, it was also confirmed that rappers Wale and Meek Mill were also expected to perform as well.

According to WCNC in Charlotte, the Gangster Disciples are beefing with Rick Ross because they feel the rapper has been disrespectful to their organization. Apparently, the gang members claim the disrespect started when Ross mentioned the name of the founder of the street gang. It’s also being reported that the beef intensified when Rick Ross decided to start using the Star of David to promote himself. The gang uses the Star of David to identify members.

For disappointed fans, refunds for tickets started on Friday. There is still no word yet on when Ross and the rest of his roster will be making another trip to North Carolina.

Rick Ross has not yet made any statements regarding  the incident, nor has he made any comments regarding his beef with the street gang. But those close to the rapper are hoping that he and the gang can reach an understanding very soon.
