That Was Fast: Katt Williams is No Longer Retired

Katt Williams is normally one to bring on the laughter on stage and in movies. But looking at the recent things that have been surrounding the comedian, not many of them have been a joking matter at all. Katt Williams found himself in a bit of a mess when he got arrested at a nightclub, an arrest that Katt said was all a big misunderstanding. What followed after his arrest however could not be misunderstood as Katt was caught on video cursing out a group of hecklers at his show and walked off stage after doing so. Due to his irate behavior on stage, it was speculated that Katt Williams was on drugs, the only explanation that many people thought made sense. The rumor started to escalate, with other comedians even suggesting what type of drug Katt was on specifically. Having enough of people gossiping about his alleged drug problem, Katt addressed the rumor and said that he was not on drugs. As the comedian claimed to be drug free, he again had yet another meltdown during one of his shows out in Oakland. Aside from his show antics, Katt found himself in trouble with the law again after he was captured on tape assaulting an employee at Target.

With everything coming down on him at once, Katt decided that he had had enough of it all. In a tearful video clip, Katt Williams announced to the world that he was retiring from doing stand-up comedy. Katt’s sudden retirement from something that he loves was shocking to some while others were feeling that that was coming shortly. Apparently now though, Katt’s emotional retirement announcement was just him speaking out of his frustration of not feeling appreciated anymore as a comedian according to a representative of his. Here’s what Katt’s rep had to say on his retirement announcement:

“Katt is definitely NOT retiring. He will be moving forward with the tour… Friday is Texas, Saturday New Orleans, and on to Alabama,” a representative for the comedian told TMZ. “The reason why he made remarks was due to him feeling totally disrespected by all the things that happen to him in the city of Seattle. He had a moment where he felt very unappreciated. He now just wants to move forward from those unfortunate events and give his fans outstanding shows from this point forward.”

Katt Williams claimed that he had no publicist or manager at the same time that he dispelled the drug use rumors so it seems quite strange that now he has a representative when not too long ago he said that he didn’t. Not to mention, his Facebook fan page states that he will be doing shows this upcoming weekend:

Don’t miss Katt this Friday in Houston and Saturday in NOLA! Yes, he WILL be there!

 

It’s possible Katt was in his feelings when he said he was retiring, but we do have to question how fast he had a change of heart in hiring a publicist. We just hope this “publicist” or anyone else is in his circle didn’t talk him out of taking a break that could have been useful to him mentally for their own financial gain.
