Lance Gross created a buzz for himself in the acting world after landing a spot on the Tyler Perry sitcom House of Payne and starred in the big screen film Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns. Outside of the sitcom arena, Lance has stepped outside of the box and gone on to do independent films too, starring in The Last Fall alongside Vanessa Bell Calloway and Keith David. Landing acting gigs and attempting to gain more popularity in Hollywood, Lance Gross has come to find out that when you become famous, there aren’t many things that are kept a secret from the public, one of those things being his past relationship with ex-fiance’ Model Eva Marcille. Not only has he recognized that your personal business can become public knowledge almost instantly, Lance Gross has also come to the realization that being tagged with the role model title is something that comes with the territory when you are a famous person. As some celebrities don’t like having that responsibility placed on their shoulders, Lance claims that he knew from the start that he was going to take on that role as he had a great role model of his own to look up to in his father. And he feels that good role models are people that young children are truly in need of, especially African American males:
“I grew up in Oakland, [Calif.], and I just remember how it was growing up there. I had my father, and he was an amazing man and an amazing role model, so I always wanted to mirror that … So when I got into this business, I told myself that I wanted to be somebody that little kids aspired to be like … I just think it’s real important — especially for young black males — because I look at the guidance that my father gave me. I had friends who didn’t have that growing up, and I see how they turned out compared to how I turned out, and it’s a big difference. So I think that I owe that to my father, because he played his part, he did what he was supposed to do, and he set a great example … I just want to keep continuing to set the example that my father set for me.”
Keeping with the talk of family, Lance adds that he one day wants children of his own:
“Oh yeah, of course! … I definitely want children. That’s important to me, so I just want to make sure that I’m completely prepared for it when that day comes.”
In addition to receiving props for his acting skills, Lance Gross also gets a heavy round of applause for his good looks too from his female fans. Although most famous men get used to women throwing themselves at them every chance that they get, Lance says that he still hasn’t fully gotten used to getting massive amounts of attention from women, especially those he doesn’t even know. But with all the attention that he gets, Lance adds that he never lets it go to his head:
“No, it’s still a trip to me. It always feels new, and I can never get used to that. I mean, I’m humble … to me, I’m just a regular cat from Oakland, California. The attention is nice, though, and I really appreciate it. I appreciate every compliment, and never let any of it go to my head.”
Lance Gross continues to dabble in different areas of the film industry and is finding success along the way. Yet with it, and all the love that he gets from his female supporters, he still manages to keep a level head.
Too fine!!!!
I doubt he’s as humble as he says he is but he is a very handsome man that seems pretty cool.
And you would be correct! Homeboy dragged his first fiance from DC to LA, got his first role, started getting attn and dumped her with no place to go!
Actually she broke up with him because she didn’t want to get married…Lance is to damn fine!!
He can get it…sorry. That’s my ratchet typing.
Like a damn Hershey’s chocolate bar. Damn. Smh.
