Rapper Rick Ross might be having quite the rap career currently, but the Maybach Music Group founder has been having a lot of trouble with notorious street gang Gangster Disciples. Apparently things started when Ross using the gang’s symbols on his album covers and doing so with no remorse. Ross claims usage of the gang’s paraphernalia is nothing more than a sign of his respect for the organization, but the gang apparently had a problem with it regardless, especially since the rapper has thrown in the group’s founder’s name in recent rap lyrics. All of this has been labeled as a form of disrespect to the organization.
As a result, the gang has been making videos and threatening Ross not to show up and perform concerts in areas that they are notoriously known for operating out of. Ross seemed to not be fazed by any of the video threats, and even said in a recent interview that he doesn’t take the threats seriously because “Real gangstas move in silence.”
Welp. We guess someone heard Ross loud and clear because someone did move in silence and rolled up on Ross in the Rolls Royce he was driving in Ft. Lauderdale earlier today and began to shoot at the vehicle. No one was injured, but those on the scene claim that Ross was visibly shaken by the whole ordeal.
Here’s the report from Local 10:
Around 5 a.m. Monday, Fort Lauderdale police received multiple calls from residents who heard shots fired near Las Olas Blvd. and 15th Ave.
Police say two people were in a Rolls Royce heading east on Las Olas when a vehicle approached them and someone inside fired off multiple shots.
The driver of the Rolls Royce attempted to get away and slammed the car into a residential apartment building on 15th Avenue.
No one was injured.
Police are still looking for the people responsible for the shooting, and have not yet released any information about them or the car they were driving.
They are also not releasing the names of the victims, who asked that their names be withheld for safety reasons.
An employee at the Floridian diner, however, told Local 10 that rapper Rick Ross and a woman were in the Rolls Royce. That employee said Ross was shaken up after the drive by shooting.
Of course we don’t know who is responsible for the shooting, but we do hope now that Rick Ross will start to take the recent threats made against him more seriously.
Did we mention that today is Rick Ross’ birthday too? Crazy.
Damn! Something told me he was going to regret acting nonchalant about those threats.
Well when you rap that street sh-t, don’t be surprised when that street sh-t comes and finds you one day. I hope he beefs up his security now.

So his girlfriend was in the car? Aww man. I’m glad no one got hurt, but he needs to swallow his pride and make some calls. Somebody is not playing with him anymore.

Very. He needs to stop dismissing the threats he is receiving. Some people are bluffing but there’s always at least one person who isn’t.
This is why it pays to just be yourself!!!! I’m so glad some of these younger rappers are getting it. Look at Kendrick Lamar! He’s not trying to be a thug and he is still almost platinum. Not everyone wants to listen to dumbed down music anymore. I think Rick Ross is real smart but he is playing a game that can get him killed. You don’t ever play with gangs. People in gangs have nothing to lose, nothing to live for, and not too many reasons not to kill you. Smdh.

I knew he had made a death wish when he went on that long rant about how none of those gang bangers were going to do anything. Yeah right.
This is not good. He may not be so lucky next time. And I do think there might be a next time.
