Beyonce is already having a pretty big year in her music career as she’s expected to drop her fifth studio album, a documentary on HBO, and even performed a second time at the President’s Inauguration. The Inauguration performance caused a bit of controversy, but Beyonce had another chance to redeem herself at the Super Bowl press conference and when she took the stage to perform at the halftime show. And Beyonce did just that and put on the kind of performance that had everyone talking and reacting on the social networks throughout the show. It was also a highlight for many Destiny’s Child fans to see the group reunite for a couple of songs, and it’s clear that Beyonce’s nervousness resulted in one of the best shows she’s had in her career.
Although there were whispers that President Obama and the First Lady (who has admitted that she is a huge Beyonce fan) were outraged with Beyonce due to the lip syncing situation, the First Lady took it upon herself to show the world that she doesn’t have any issues with Beyonce, and she thought Beyonce’s performance was “phenomenal.”
The First Lady tweets:
Beyonce also took a moment to write a letter and congratulate the rest of the sisters who performed at the Super Bowl and congratulated Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly and Michelle:
In other news, some people suggested that Beyonce’s performance was the reason behind the Super Dome’s power outage that caused a long delay in the second half of the game, but the NFL released an official statement denying that Beyonce’s show had anything to do with the outage since her show was “running on its own generator.”
Bey is doing big things. You know you’ve done good when the First Lady stans for you. LOL. Get em.
Right!
