Joe Budden has been very transparent with his Molly addiction. The rapper and now reality television star has opened up and has shown fans of Love and Hip Hop his struggles of beating drug addiction. And while Joe has admitted that he’s tried several different types of drugs, Molly was the drug that he found himself addicted to. On the show, Joe relies on help from his ex girlfriend Tahiry Jose and his mother to help him kick the habit for good. But according to Tahiry, it was devastating to watch Joe struggle with the drug and experience the physical effects such as extreme weight loss.

Joe recently admitted in an interview with Rolling Out Magazine that he began using the drug because he felt “overwhelmed.”

Now the rapper is talking more about Molly, and he reveals why he feels it’s dangerous for rappers to be praising it in their lyrics and why he finally had to kick the habit.

In an interview with MyFoxNy.com, he says:

“Now everyone is speaking about Molly like it’s the thing to do. I didn’t see a problem with the fact that maybe five days would go by without sleeping. I didn’t see a problem with the fact that maybe I was hallucinating at times. I didn’t see a problem with the fact that I just couldn’t get up and walk sometimes.

“It just altered your thinking process dramatically and for a thinker like myself that was like nothing I’d ever experienced before.”

Joe also says that now he feels like using the drug is “corny”:

“I thought it was important for somebody, anybody to stand up and say, ‘you know, I did that, it’s corny. I’m just hoping that at the end of the day, it won’t be me versus the entire music industry when it comes to who a 13-year-old should listen to regarding drugs.”

  1. And I agree with him that it’s very corny for rappers to be on this whole Molly thing in their music now. Rap has totally gone to sh-t. Excuse my language.

    1. Girl everyone’s storyline is boring as hell. I stopped watching because of Erica’s racist remarks. I’m sure people will watch for whatever fight scenes we know Mona has placed for mid season ratings boosters.

  2. I agree with him. It’s very lame that Molly is the “it” thing to rap about now. Our kids don’t stand a chance if they won’t to listen to rap.
