It’s already been established that 2013 is going to be Beyonce’s year, and the singer has already had several big moments so far that include the Super Bowl, the President’s second Inauguration, and her new $50 million deal with Pepsi. Now Beyonce sets her focus on her upcoming tour, The Mrs. Carter Show; as well as the release of her fifth studio album, and upcoming documentary on HBO. Beyonce has already made it clear on several occasions that her documentary is such a big deal to her because she feels she’s opening up more than she ever has before in the film. But in between her major career accomplishments, Beyonce is still making time to get fierce on magazine covers.
Beyonce covers the March issue of Vogue Magazine, and inside the glossy high fashion publication, she opens up about being married to Jay-Z, being a first time mother to daughter Blue Ivy, and how she deals with all of the hate she gets on the Internet.
On being a mother, she says:
“I felt very maternal around eight months. And I thought I couldn’t become any more until I saw the baby. . . . But it happened during my labor because I had a very strong connection with my child. I felt like when I was having contractions, I envisioned my child pushing through a very heavy door. And I imagined this tiny infant doing all the work, so I couldn’t think about my own pain. . . . We were talking. I know it sounds crazy, but I felt a communication.”
Beyonce says although she has an impeccable career, her family is more precious to her:
“Family has always been important. I’ve always had my mother and my father and my husband. But it’s just. . . .Life is so much more than. . . It’s not defined by any of this.”
When it comes to the rumors, Beyonce believes that the most shocking one is the rumors that she used a surrogate and did not give birth to Blue Ivy:
“That was very odd. Who even thinks that? Like, who would make that up. . . . You can’t take it too seriously.”
With the level of superstardom that Beyonce has achieved in her lengthy music career, she says it really helps that she married Jay-Z, someone she feels understands her career:
“Just knowing someone’s always going to be honest and tell the truth [who] can understand exactly what I’m going through—and I can understand exactly what he’s going through.”
And when it comes to those nasty internet comments on the blogs, Beyonce says she reads the articles, but doesn’t dare read the comments:
“Don’t scroll down!” Beyoncé advises, laughing. “You’re definitely going to get your feelings hurt.”
Beyonce knows that she works hardest then most, but she explains it’s because she wanted to have the opportunity to step back if she chose to do so:
“I don’t feel like I have to please anyone. I feel free. I feel like I’m an adult. I’m grown. I can do what I want. I can say what I want. I can retire if I want. That’s why I’ve worked hard.”
Here’s a couple of photos from the spread:
Fabulous.
HAWT! I’m glad she doesn’t read the blog comments because some of them are just downright despicable. It’s just better to get CONSTRUCTIVE criticism from people who are mature and want you to succeed.
She looks good.
So she doesn’t read the comments?! She just ruined the day of all her haters. They thought they were doing something too with those hateful comments they post daily. Oh well. LOL!
Right!
Exactly!
I like the fact she ONLY reads the article. So to ALL the haters. Joke is on you and you and you. lmfas. Epic.
Love it!
