Rapper Nas is without a doubt, considered by most as one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic. Unfortunately for Nas, his greatness in music never actually translated into his romantic life. Although Nas fell in love with and ended up marrying singer Kelis, their marriage would be a tumultuous one, and the former couple would divorce not too long after the birth of their only child Knight. While it was reported that there was plenty of hostility between the two post their split, Nas confessed recently that he blames himself for the end of their marriage. According to Nas, although they were already having issues, he made issues worse by stepping outside of the marriage and sleeping with other women.
Although things are better now and the former couple now considers themselves friends, Nas has admitted that he does wish they could give their romance another try someday. Unfortunately, Kelis just doesn’t seem to be interested in reconciling romantically.
In addition to things ending badly with Kelis, things also ended badly with Nas’ former girlfriend and baby mama Carmen Bryan. Carmen is the same ex of Nas that Jay-Z claimed her slept with in his diss track to Nas entitled “Takeover,” and she even penned a tell all book not too long after the beef between the two rappers.
Carmen and Nas are not on good terms still, and recently she took her issues with him to Twitter when she expressed that she was outraged that he would rap about their daughter in his song “Daughters.” Nas made peace with his daughter and invited her to be in the music video, but now it appears that Carmen is mad again because Nas didn’t take his daughter to the Grammys after his album Life is Good was nominated, not to mention his song “Daughters” was nominated for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
Nas didn’t win and didn’t expect to, but the loss is probably stings a little more since Carmen blasted him on Twitter again.

I’m not making excuses for Nas, but I’ve always thought he wasn’t that close to his daughter because he doesn’t get alone with her mom. She seems to cause too much drama and it’s probably hell for him to even do things with her. Carmen seems real spiteful.

A phone call couldn’t suffice? I see she’s still doing the MOST and yet wonders why Nas isn’t around as much. Nas spends a lot of time with Knight, and that’s because he is getting along with Kelis.
Sigh…maybe he should have taken her, but the rants on Twitter need to end. A real woman picks up the phone and makes her issues known in a mature way. Carmen is still messy and that’s probably why he doesn’t have the best relationship with his daughter.
Smh. So petty. All this because she didn’t go to the Grammys when Nas didn’t even want to go himself?
Carmen needs a man. These Twitter rants must stop. Now.
Well a lot of single moms are complaining that they can’t get child support, but this bish is complaining that her daughter didn’t get to go to the Grammys. Have a stadium of seats Carmen.

Agreed. I’ve never seen anyone get mad over not taking her daughter to an adult event. Seems like she wanted to go, not her daughter.
Carmen needs to get her life…she’s always angry at Nas for something and blasting him on Twitter.

I kind of see what she’s saying. The song about his daughter was nominated, so maybe he should have just asked her to go with him. It’s every teenager’s dream to go to the Grammys.
She’s stupid. He didn’t take Knight either and do you see Kelis goin HAM over it? If she wanted her daughter to go to the Grammy’s so badly then she should have told him to take his daughter and not wait for him to offer to take her. I can’t stand tacky BMs like her who only think about themselves and not the best interest of the child or children.
I wish someone would tell this chick to put a muzzle on it. I think she still has feelings for Nas and is using every excuse to get his attention, but he’s not interested.
Poor Carmen – so bitter and still thirsty after all these years and failed attempts to discredit this man. I’m not making any excuses for him because he himself has admitted he’s far from perfect – that was the point of the song – he wishes he had been there more for Destiny. What bothers me about this recent rant is your azz is 40 plus and Destiny is old enough and more than capable of speaking for herself. What does Carmen hope to accomplish by airing him out publicly? You’d think that bitter bird would learn her lesson – its pointless. He’s not interested in you. He took care of you and Destiny. He married someone else and has another child and another set of responsibilities. This broad obviously doesn’t have a man, a life or any friends that she can talk to so Twitter is her release which is silly and immature. She needs to get a life and close her Twitter. Destiny isn’t tweeting so why are you?
