Let the recent reports tell it, and it would appear that the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige is having loads of money problems. Although Mary has had an impeccable music career, allegedly things for the singer have gotten pretty intense thanks to some bad business decisions being made for her charity organization. According to multiple reports, Mary has allegedly defaulted on a several loans that were taken out for the charity, and it’s clear that whoever is managing the organization is doing it more harm than good. Especially now since it has been speculated that Mary owes well over $2 million in debt.

When asked about her money troubles and charity mishaps, Mary blames it on faulty management, and not picking the right people to manage her organization.

Well now it appears that Mary’s money problems are now hitting her extremely close to home. According to the NY Daily News, the singer is allegedly having a hard time paying rent for her tony upper west side apartment in New York.

A source tells the publication that they saw a notice on her door that accused the singer of not paying back rent last November.

According to a real estate expert that spoke to the NY Daily News, apartments of that stature go for about $9,000 to $12,000 a month to rent. The publication isn’t clear on if Mary was able to get things right or not with the owner of the property and paid the owed back rent.

As for Mary, she says she sees all the reports regarding her alleged “money troubles” as nothing more than negativity, and she’s not letting the reports get her down one bit.

  1. I hope this isn’t true but it could be. Why is she having all the money problems? I thought she was still doing shows and tours, etc? Where is her money going?

    1. Mary might not be smart with her money. She may not be managing it well. A lot of celebs outspend themselves and buy a lot of things they don’t really need instead of saving/investing their funds.

      1. Agreed. It’s easy to spend all your money when you think you have too much of it to ever run out. Being famous and rich is a gift and a curse.
