Taraji P. Henson is one of the top Black actresses out at the moment. And her role as the feisty baby mama Yvette in ‘Baby Boy’ was just the beginning for the 42-year-old actress as she has proven that she has much versatility when it comes to her acting skills. After being nominated for an Academy Award for her powerful role in the film ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’, Taraji P. Henson has continued to land roles in movies on the big screen and is now starring in the CBS drama Person of Interest.  Not only do Taraji’s acting skills get her much praise, but the actress has a sense of humor that people absolutely adore about her. Acting is most definitely a passion of hers but there are other things that Taraji feels strongly about as well. The actress just recently did an ad for PETA where she posed with her beloved pooch Uncle Willie. And as an angel for animals, Taraji encourages dog owners to allow their dogs to stay indoors, giving them a nice, warm place to lay their heads instead of keeping them chained up outside in harsh weather. Taraji also says that to her, dogs are more than just animals but they are more like children, the closest thing to the Almighty she says, and that dogs have that true love for their owners, regardless of how the owners treat them:

“I never thought I could be so in love with an animal until I had Willie. He’s our family. He has beds in every room. He travels everywhere I go. He’s just the best companion. Dogs to me are like children. They are the closest thing to God. They are so pure in their love, and all they do is aim to please. ‘Cause you can watch video of someone abusing a dog and what does the dog do? He’ll get up with an eye swollen, blood leaking, and he’ll still love you. I mean, that’s the epitome of unconditional love.”

  1. This is my girl. I love dogs too but PETA kills a lot of them. People just need to make sure they consider adopting pets from shelters before they do the whole pet store thing.
