On the latest episode of “Raising Kanan,” crucial moves are made as a war approaches. Here is the recap for, “It’s About That Time.”

Krystal meets her demise.

The episode begins with Pop walking into the room where Krystal has been chained up. Krystal has been visibly beaten and Pop is there to ask questions about Famous’ death. She pretends to sympathize with Krystal and says they are both “bad ******” to get her to talk.

Pop then prepares a peanut butter and jelly sandwich while she’s talking.

Krystal says Kanan doesn’t know who killed Famous. He thought it was Raq but she told him Raq didn’t do it. Kanan blames Raq for everything bad that happens.

Pop then shoots Krystal in the head as she eats the sandwich.

The shooting outside of the studio attracts the attention of the police.

Meanwhile, Kanan meets Juke at the diner. Krystal’s cousins tell Kanan she never made it to Delaware and they are concerned. When he gets off the phone, Raq shows up. He’s annoyed Juke set up this meeting behind his back.

Lou Lou, B-Rilla, and Imani receive a visit from detectives while they are in the recording studio. They are asked about the shooting that resulted in Kenyatta and Julius’ deaths. All three say they know nothing. It is then confirmed the weapons found were used in the previous robbery that took place at Lowell’s home.

In response, Lou says it seems as if the shooting is connected to Lowell and not them.

Imani excuses herself. After the detectives leave, B-Rilla says the cops know nothing. Lou reminds him to keep his mouth shut to keep it that way.

Early gets even with Marvin.

Back at the diner, Raq tells Kanan and Juke that she only wanted to talk because Krystal stopped by recently. Krystal was worried that Kanan was getting ready to make dumb decisions. So she wanted Raq to reach out to him. Despite what Kanan thinks, she didn’t have anything to do with Famous’ death. She wouldn’t do that. And Kanan likes to blame her for everything.

When she is told Krystal is missing, Raq says she has nothing to do with that either. Kanan storms off.

Early rolls up on Marvin for killing his cousin Londell. Marvin taunts him and leaves.

Raq and Marvin’s restaurant connect David is murdered while partying at the club. It appears to be a hit.

After Marvin shows no remorse, Early goes to see Stefano to say they need to talk about Marvin.

Raq is keeping up with Kanan’s moves.

Imani heads to the lounge to confront Lou. Turns out he didn’t tell her she would be used for an alibi. He lied to the detectives about what time he went to her place. His dishonesty has rubbed her the wrong way and she no longer wants to see him or work with him.

Iesha spends time with Jukebox during her break from college. Although she believes Juke can do whatever she puts her mind to, Juke isn’t all that positive about her career prospects. She has realized she’s a lot like her family members and that might not be a bad thing.

It turns out the shooter who killed David is a guy from Jersey brought in by Unique. He’s there when Kanan comes by demanding answers about Krystal.

Unique tells Kanan he has no beef with him and his problem is only with Raq. So he is not responsible for Kanan’s people being killed or going missing (this is false, he killed O-Cee). When Kanan confirms he took out Ronnie and would do it again, Unique says he is fine with this because he didn’t really consider Ronnie as family despite being brothers. He wants to work with Kanan and believes their partnership would be a success.

When Kanan leaves, Raq looks on from her car while parked across the street.

Stefano makes his play.

Detective Garcia approaches Juke while she’s hanging out with Iesha. After Iesha reluctantly leaves, Juke tells him she has nothing to tell him. And he promises to keep stalking her until she does.

Lowell calls Lou into his office to discuss Imani wanting nothing to do with him and the robbery attempt and shooting. Lou says none of this has anything to do with him but he realizes he is a “street *****” and he no longer belongs at the label. He’s done.

After Stefano meets with Raq and Marvin about temporarily helping them move product since David was killed, he requests to speak to Raq alone. He tells her Marvin crossed the line with his involvement in his friend’s death. He believes Early told the truth when he claimed Marvin told him to kill a made man.

When Raq says she doesn’t believe this, Stefano lies and says Marvin talked to him about wanting to replace her.

Lou is back.

Marvin finds out where Gerald’s daughter Amber is living. When he tries to see her, her unkempt foster parents refuse to let him in. Amber calls for him and he ends up killing the parents after he sees she’s been locked up in a room with a baby.

Juke meets with Garcia in hopes that he has information on Krystal. He tells her an 18-year-old Jane Doe was found. And when he shows Juke a picture, Krystal’s death is confirmed. Before Garcia leaves, Garcia tells her she now owes him.

Lou tells Raq he wants back in the game and his newfound peace has made him crave war. Raq tells him to strap up.

Kanan goes to Pop and Snaps to find out if they found out from their cop leads about Famous’ killer. They lie to him and say Raq is responsible.

At the conclusion of the episode, Lou and Raq pay Unique a visit. Raq says they need to talk. He smiles when he sees her.
