Beyonce is set to drop her fifth studio album this year, and although she’s preparing to kick off her world tour “The Mrs. Carter Show” this summer, the singer has decided to tease her fans and amp up her critics by releasing what sounds like a boastful interlude or perhaps two snippets of two songs combined into one teaser track over the weekend. “Bow Down/I Been On” has to be some of Beyonce’s cockiest lyrics to date, as the singer is basically telling all of her haters and possibly even her peers in the music industry to have several seats because it’s her time to dominate the air waves.

On the teaser track, Beyonce is definitely paying homage to her hometown Houston with a chopped and screwed rap verse, and snatching wigs with lyrics like these:

I know when you were little girls you dreamt of being in my world
Don’t forget it, don’t forget it
Respect that, bow down, b*tches!

And rapping verses like these:

I heard your boo was talkin’ lip
I told my crew to smack that trick, smack that trick
Guess what they did? Smack that trick

I’m the number one chick I on’t need no hype
The capital B means I’m bout that life, The capital B means I’m bout that life
I been on, I been on, I been on,
Tell me who gon’ take me off, take me off?

We’re thinking Beyonce also wanted to get her fans hype for her upcoming tour (we don’t think they needed the help considering how fast tickets sold out), but it’s interesting that the beat to her “Bow Down” track is the same one that was used for the commercials for her tour.

As with anything Beyonce does, the internet has been blazing since she dropped the track on her website, and of course, it’s launched some kind of “stan war” between Beyonce and Rihanna’s loyal fans. We’re not sure why though because we do think it’s possible that two black women can dominate music at the same time (seriously).

If you haven’t heard the track, check it out below. Also vote in the poll and let us know how you feel about Beyonce’s new music so far.

  1. Love it!!!! I like to see Bey letting lose!!! And you’re right, there can be several big time black singers on top at one time and it needs to be!!!!

  2. I have been playing this damn song out since last night! I love it! I like to see Bey cocky! The rappers do it, so why can’t the females?

  3. Me likey. LOL at the people saying she sounds like the devil at the end. I guess they never heard of chopped and screwed music before. SMH.

  4. Rihanna’s stans need to have a whole stadium of seats. Rihanna is not the queen and damn sure ain’t the KING. I’m tired of the thirsty navy always trying to compare Rih to Bey. Beyonce has on her own damn lane. That said, I love this!

  5. Hate it. I hope the next track will be better. I didn’t like Diva either but I get that she has to have something for her more urban crowd.

    1. I was thinking the same thing. It doesn’t sound like a real song. Very interludish (yes I made up a word lol).

  6. LOL ya’ll RiRI Fans tho?! lmao honey’s have a seat Because King Bey is ready to hold court & be-head all these “artist”

  7. That is the most simple sh** ever………………….all that money and you still bowing down to that level? Cut that stupid sh** out and make some music. If the people are there, they there, if they ain’t then move on, can’t have it both ways, you giving your resume and listing your credentials via a rap song……………..really?

  8. I like it. I do think some people are over thinking it, she got her cockiness on and tried to rap. Clearly, she’s just having fun. People are too serious. Smile.

  9. Did anybody read the verses, she is telling people that dream about being in her world to bow down to her. This made me look at Beyonce in another light. She is a mother and wife, gotta leave them childish way behind her

  10. I’m not surprised by this song. This is typical Beyonce! She always gotta a song every album about how she’s on top and everyone else are her little minions! The Bow Down beat is cool tho.
