Female rapper Nicki Minaj’s resume continues to get longer, but her current accomplishment as a new host on American Idol hasn’t been a smooth one. Besides beefing with fellow newbie judge Mariah Carey, Nicki has also been ripped to shreds by critics and even labeled as one of the reasons people believe the show’s ratings have greatly declined. It also doesn’t help that reports claim she’s having some background issues with the producers of the show, especially since it’s been speculated that she acts like a diva behind the scenes and has been late on way too many occasions. We suspect all of the drama may be the reason Nicki won’t be coming back next season, but she still tells the media that her future on the show will remain a mystery to the public for now.
However, it’s clear Nicki doesn’t feel all the scrutiny and criticism she gets is fair and in a recent interview, she claims she believes she has done a great job on the show so far. Nicki tells reporters:
“My best and worst ‘Idol’ moments? I don’t have a worst ‘Idol’ moment. I’ve been spectacular. Yes, I am going to toot my own horn. And then my best moment is every single moment. I’ll toot it again. … I feel like my entire career and life, I’ve been judged by people who did not really know me. I definitely think that they probably were right to assume what they had assumed about me, because there was such little to go on out there. I’m just happy that ‘Idol’ producers gave me a shot on the show and to be able to show who I really was, because I feel like I’m every single woman.”
Sigh…girl please have a seat.
LOL at her being “every single woman.” She’s a trip.
Love her to pieces! And she is doing a great job. She’s the most honest judge on the panel. The only reason she gets hated on so much is because people just don’t like her. It’s silly.
She thinks she’s every single woman? I didn’t know we all aspire to be clowns and wear brightly colored tacky wigs.
People judge her based off her ridiculous behavior. She’s the only judge who can never be on time to the show. What kind of sense does that make?
Nicki Minaj, say RIP to your career.
