Jennifer Lopez may be done with her judging gig on American Idol, but the superstar is still making moves in the music business. Most recently it was reported that she was in talks to secure the spot in the opening ceremony of India’s Premier League cricket tournament, but according to reports, the singer lost the gig to Pitbull because the demands she made for herself and her entourage were completely ridiculous to the show planners. Unfortunately for J-Lo, the performance would have put her in front of a set of 60 million eyeballs. The New York Post reports:
Sources tell us the pampered pop princess’ manager, Benny Medina, had asked that a private plane be made available for her, along with numerous hotel rooms to house her huge entourage, which included an army of stylists, assistants and a personal chef.
Officials at the Pepsi IPL balked at their demands and instead booked rapper Pitbull for the opening ceremony, next Tuesday, which will also feature some of Bollywood’s biggest stars.
A source told us, “The demands made on behalf of Jennifer were outrageous. She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was an idiotic move because the audience for this event is huge. It’s like the Super Bowl halftime show. Last year it drew 56 million viewers.”
Of course Jennifer Lopez’s diva requests aren’t a new thing, as the singer has been accused over the years for making extravagant requests for her and her entourage on numerous occasions. So it’s possible losing out on this gig won’t make the star reconsider her requests any time soon.
LMAO.
I’m not surprised.
She always annoyed me. She’s another one with subpar talent that has the big head for no reason.
That’s what she gets.
Pitbull? J-Lo? What is this, a has been concert?
LOL.
When your star is fading, so does your right to make these kinds of demands…
I guess J-Lo thinks it’s still the late 90s. LOL.
Girl bye. You are not all that. Learn to sing before you make diva demands.
Losing gigs in India, huh? It might be time to hang it up.
Smh… They could’ve met the demands. They were being big headed and lost a big time act. When can they get big American acts in India?
FAIL.
J-Lo needs to have several seats!
