Superstar Beyonce has found herself in the middle of yet another controversy. The singer released two teaser tracks the other day entitled “Bow Down/I Been On” and the songs have been met with mixed reactions. Although most of Beyonce’s loyal supporters like the songs and their braggadocios lyrics, peers of Beyonce’s including Keyshia Cole and Brandy have made it clear that they don’t like the song. Some folks are also offended that Beyonce seems to be calling her competition b*tches and even demanding that they “bow down” to her because she’s achieved more success than they have in the music business. Of course there is still a group of artists who have defended the song, and even cited that women should be able to be cocky about their achievements considering men do it all the time in Hip Hop without being criticized. Regardless, it appears that R&B singer Kelly Rowland is “Team Bey” on the subject and she recently defended her close friend to Big Tigger over the weekend on the Big Tigger Show when he asked her how she felt about it. Kelly says:

“I’ve heard pieces of what she’s done. She’s heard things that I’ve recorded and I just think it scratches the surface to everything else. I think it’s a great record (“Bow Down”). It’s her expression. I think, as an artist, you can express yourself however you want to and I just can’t wait for everybody to hear the rest of the record. It is insane.”

Kelly also talked about her upcoming album, Talk A Good Game and revealed some of the big names she collaborated with:

“I’m actually in the process of wrapping it up this weekend. This is actually the last recording session I’ve got for this album, but I’m so excited. I’ve been in the studio with Dream. I’ve been in the studio with Harmony. I’ve been in the studio with Pharrell. I’ve been in the studio with Kevin Cossom, who is incredible. When I tell you, he is so incredible and I’m so happy I got the opportunity to work with him.”

Kelly also set the record straight on the album’s release date and said it’s not dropping on June 4 despite earlier reports. An official release date will be announced soon.

    1. So being a loyal friend equals worshipping? I guess you expect all women to be hateful, jealous, and vindictive. Please have a seat.

  1. Kelly is so loyal. I love that about her. She could be catty and try to backstab Bey, but that’s just not who she is. I respect that and that’s why I like her. She’s the definition of a real friend.

  2. Love Kelly! And she’s right! People should be able to switch up their music styles when they FEEL LIKE IT.

  3. I agree with Kelly. I don’t like the song, but I don’t understand all the “outrage” especially when women are so nasty to each other on a daily basis. People are such hypocrites.

  4. Kelly needs to stop worrying about what Bey’s doing and make sure her album doesn’t flop. She’s not known for selling records. Bey can put out a lame record and still go platinum. She didn’t even try to promote 4 and it went platinum. And that is what will happen here. All this backlash for that Bow Down song won’t do a thing to her album sales. So yeah, Kelly needs to worry about her own music.

    1. I agree. If she spent as much time focusing on her career as she does sucking up Bey’s but, I’m sure she would be selling more records.

  5. #TeamKelly Bey’s her girl, she should have her back in the media. People want black women to tear each other apart, I’m glad she’s not falling for it.

  6. Kelly still doesn’t get it…Bey can have a wack song and still sell millions of records. Kelly won’t even sell half a million. She needs to stop talking about Bey in all of her interviews.

    1. She was just answering the question. I swear some of you believe Kelly should hate Bey like you do. She’s not a bitter person. And I’m glad she isn’t.

  7. Much ado about nothing. If you don’t like the song, that’s fine. But I wish people would stop making it deeper than what it is. Don’t talk about women need to stick together when in real life, no one does. Bey never says anything when people go at her and now that she finally has, people are outraged. People are stupid.

  8. Kelly is right. Artists should be able to express themselves however they want to in their music. To ask Beyonce to be a human punching bag and never vent her anger/frustration is so hypocritical. I’m more annoyed that women feel a woman needs to “act a certain way” because she’s not a man or because she’s 30 and married. Bey haters please don’t scream for women’s rights when you set your own gender back with those kinds of comments over a SONG.

  9. I do think that artists should be able to express themselves however they want, but I also think some things you just shouldn’t do. Meaning: have a conscience, and judgement. Everyone keeps comparing this situation to Rihanna’s bragging and rappers bragging on records, but Beyonce is not Rihanna nor is she a rapper. She has status in the U.S. She’s a friend of our president. She sang at the Inauguration and when Obama was sworn in for re-election. You cannot just do and say as you please when you have that status. And besides, she’s nothing compared to the divas that came before her (ex. Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Patti Labelle, Whitney Houston etc,) These are the original divas, Beyonce’s inspirations. You’ve never heard any of them tell people to ‘bow down’. Nobody should bow down or worship you. You are not God. You’re a singer.

  10. This is hidden information. It just wasn’t taught in most schools. They know yall dont read so they dont have to hide it. It’s out there
