Tyler Perry teaming up with Oprah Winfrey? Tyler Perry hasn’t slowed down a bit when it comes to putting out the films as his recent movie ‘Temptation’ hit theaters last week. Tyler Perry has been criticized for not stepping outside of the box with the story lines when it comes his movies yet with this one, TP caught much flack for the casting choices that he made. Despite having to defend Kim Kardashian, her role didn’t have an impact on his pockets as the movie did great at the box office, becoming Tyler Perry’s second highest grossing movie of his career with Madea nowhere to be found in it. And now Tyler Perry has two scripted series that are set to air on OWN, The Haves and the Have Nots, a series about the dynamics between the powerful, rich Cryer family and the hired help who work in their mansion, and Love Thy Neighbor that are set to premiere in May.
In addition to OWN picking up his scripted series, Tyler Perry will make a special appearance on Oprah’s Next Chapter Sunday, May 26 at 9:00 pm where Oprah Winfrey visits Tyler at his home for the interview, followed by a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the upcoming shows. As we don’t know who the shows are going to be, the promo clip is definitely getting a good laugh out of people. In a promo clip that OWN released for Tyler Perry’s new series, viewers get a chance to see Oprah’s famous ‘Color Purple’ character Sofia and Madea meet for the very first time, where Sofia is walking down a dirt road and Madea stops and asks her how to find the network.
