It’s Beyonce’s year, and although her loyal fan base is still waiting on the release of her fifth studio album, Beyonce is making moves as a brand continuously, and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down any. After dropping teaser tracks of her controversial songs “I Been On” and “Bow Down,” Beyonce explained in her interview with British Vogue that she now feels more confident and bold, and now wants to step outside the box without any fear of how others may take it. This is the reason Beyonce has now began referring to herself as Mrs. Carter, and we’re thinking Jay-Z could very well be the inspiration between her new attitude of fearlessness. More clips of her interview with British Vogue have been released, and by the looks of these quotes, Beyonce’s new attitude of fearlessness is also being translated into how she does business. Beyonce confirmed in her HBO documentary Life is But a Dream that she now manages herself, but she says that doesn’t allow her to be a pushover.

“I’m very strong and very opinionated. My ‘no’ means no, my ‘yes’ means yes. I’m not negotiating certain things – I’m not. But I don’t feel that I have to become something I’m not. I don’t have to scream and bark and do all these crazy things because – thank God – I’m at a place where if someone doesn’t agree, it’s no problem, I walk away. It takes people time to understand that you mean business.

“I’m not just self-critical. I’m critical. I’m not so critical that I don’t understand what’s great and what’s not, but I do push people. I push them and I push myself. It’s just who I am. I was that way when I was nine years old. And no one taught me that, it’s just who I was.”

  1. Is Bey’s album dropping this summer? If so, that means Kelly and Bey will be releasing albums around the same time. That should be interesting. LOL.

  2. I believe that Bey inherited that “BOSS” mentality from her dad! He’s got that same incredible drive & ambition just like his daughter..it’s what helped him rise to the top of his career as a business man before he formed Destiny’s Child. He had that same relentless..non-stop ambition as he managed the group as well..he really pushed those girls to the LIMIT to make them a huge success! Like father like daughter..with some Ms Tina mixed in for balance! Lol

  3. Plenty of kids are bossy or determined and natural leaders, but they didn’t have dad and mum together revolving their lives around those talents to get you on top. I hate hearing women say to be strong because they’re strong… er, yeah… now! Her dad was her manager for years!! The rest of us are strong everyday with no one shielding us and don’t need that bullsh-t advice from spoilt girls who don’t even know what it is to have a job in the real world, that’s where you need to learn the art of compromise because nobody kisses your a-s in the real world and being pretty or talented is just another reason for them to hate you.
I appreciate the great songs Beyonce has made but she thinks it’s all from God and destiny. Plenty of kids got given talents but their life wasn’t nurturing and protective like hers. It makes all the difference. I’m so mad at this ignorance from great women. ‘Just be strong.’ ‘Be a leader’. We are strong leaders. Just because we’re not famous it doesn’t mean we’re not good at those things. She has no idea how hard it is doing it all- dreams, work, rent, cleaning, studying, singleness etc- on your own.
