Comedian Katt Williams ran into a series of legal troubles late last year, but after he nearly hit several pedestrians after running a red light, the comedian was threatened with jail time. While many suspecting that Katt could possibly be on drugs during his time of frequent legal issue, Katt blamed the media for the damage his image suffered during his numerous arrests. Now the comedian seems to be getting his life in order, and recently did plenty of press to promote his current film Scary Movie 5. When discussing his recent string of legal troubles, Katt tells AllHipHop:
“Yea I been going through it, as a fan I’m sorry that my fans have actually had to go through it all, but sometimes when you call the hatred down on yourself sometimes it does rain kind of hard. The important part is that they know I am completely aware of the comedy situation and it’s landscape and I am coming to rectify it.”
Katt had a court appearance today that would determine his fate surrounding his high speed chase that almost led to him hitting pedestrians, but luckily for the comedian his jail sentence was reduced to community service. TMZ reports:
Katt was in court today, where he pled down to misdemeanor evading police … stemming from the wild three-wheeled chase he led cops on last November.
Katt had originally been charged with felony evading police … but prosecutors agreed to reduce the charge. As part of the deal, Katt was sentenced to 428 hours of community service to be completed in 9 months — but no jail.
I hope he stays out of trouble now.
Good for him.
He must have an amazing lawyer.
Yeah. He technically should have went to jail for a few months.
Hopefully he’s done wildin’ out now.
Get ur $hit together……
He gets a second chance. Act right Katt!
