When it comes to the current state of Hip Hop, nothing gets a heated debate going better than the topic of whether or not the industry has changed for the better or for the worse. With leading rappers such as Lil Wayne and Rick Ross rapping controversial lyrics that are offensive to the black culture and women, it’s caused many people to reflect on just where the genre of music heading to. And no one is questioning it more than the old school rappers. Nas recently spoke out on the current climate of Hip Hop and suggested newer rappers need to rap more about things of substance and slow down on comparing themselves to the late and great Tupac Shakur. And now Scarface, who is also another rapper who was incredibly close to Pac, is speaking out against Hip Hop. In a recent interview with Hardknock TV, he blasted white and Jewish record label executives for using their powers to ruin the genre, and he even claimed that he feels the current music is a conspiracy against the blacks in Hip Hop. He says:

“I feel like we losing it. feel like the people that are in control of what Hip Hop does is so f*cking White and so f*cking Jewish and so they don’t give a f*ck about what the culture and the craft really is about.

“Let me say this sh*t right because I want this to be as offensive as I can f*ckin’ make it for these old-a*s punks that’s running these record labels that’s in the powerful positions to dictate what the Black community hears and listens to. I f*cking hate that sh*t. That sh*t pisses me off.

“There’s no f*cking way that you can tell me that it’s not a conspiracy against the Blacks in Hip Hop. You put out f*cking records that make us look stupid. You make us look dumb. You brainwash a generation of Hip Hoppers with this f*cking crud and then when these other rappers come out, splitting it down the middle, these other rappers’ sh*t sound like ‘Wow!’ Y’all look great!’ ‘Y’all look stupid!’ … Then mothaf*ckers start going over here and pretty soon, Hip Hop is White now.”

Scarface did have one positive thing to say about the current state of Hip Hop and that was his love for Kendrick Lamar. He also said that he is sad Tupac is gone because he knows Tupac would have “rode” on a lot of people who are hurting the black community. One person Scarface said he suspected would have caught the wrath of Tupac is former presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.

  1. Hence why I have an iPod and I listen to whatever I like. I can’t get with this “music” (for lack of a more appropriate word) these days.

  2. Scarface said the damn truth! I look at rappers like Trinidad James and you can’t tell me he didn’t get signed for any other reason than to make us look stupid.

  3. So much truth in what he said. I’m sure Lil Wayne’s and etc. fans are killing him in his mentions tho…

  4. I see no lies. Hip Hop has gone to sh-t. But I’m thankful there are still a few good rappers out there like Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Andre 3000 and Common. There’s a few more…

  5. Well this is going on because a lot of these people are willing to sell their soul for money. The moment people stop buying their albums, then they will take a look in the mirror. Look at Rick Ross. Money is the only language they understand.

  6. Man, all I could do is shake my head about what he said about Pac. I think about that all the time. Pac would have dragged so many people had he been alive today. Please believe he would have buried Lil Wayne for that Emmett Till situation. In fact, Lil Wayne would have never blew up if he was here. I miss Pac!

  7. interesting… What’s crazy is that Scarface was the president of the sub-label that signed Luda and Young Jeezy.

  8. I feel where he’s coming from. But the thing is, this has been going on for a long time; even when Tupac was alive. This didn’t just start happening, it might be more prevalent now, but this is nothing new. I think our generation is older now and prefer more substance in the music we listen to. But artists like Luke and the 69 Boyz could be put into the same category as your Trinidad James’ and Lil Waynes. I think we had more of a balance between music with substance and music that’s meant for you to jam to, but, we’ve always been used as pawns nonetheless. That harsh reality helps me appreciate Kendrick even more. Had to throw my boo in there. lol #okbye
