The Erica and Momma Dee fight clip was one part on the supertrailer that was released for season two of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta that had viewers talking and wondering just what happened during that moment for Erica to go off the way she did. Erica and Momma Dee looked to be on better terms by the end of season one. But during the off season for the show, Momma Dee revealed that she still had her reservations about Erica despite the fact that Scrappy proposed to Erica on the reunion show. Erica and Scrappy’s relationship has been one that is hard to keep up with nowadays as the status of it changes pretty frequently. And the way Erica sees it, things with Scrappy could be better if Momma Dee didn’t try to be so involved in it. And as far as Momma Dee is concerned, Scrappy’s words about wanting to be with Erica don’t mean much to her as she has tried diligently to make a Shay and Scrappy relationship happen, Shay saying that her and Scrappy are just friends at the moment yet said that there will be no marriage taking place between Erica and Scrappy.
Although she was feeling some type of way about Momma Dee setting up a meeting between Shay and Scrappy in the studio without Scrappy’s consent, Erica was willing to have a sit down with her mother Mingnon, Scrappy and Momma Dee to talk out the issues that they have going on with each other. And what started off as a calm conversation that looked to be headed in a positive direction quickly turned violent as Erica went off like a ticking time bomb after she called Scrappy out for not checking his mother for disrespecting her. After all the shoving, cursing and holding people back, Scrappy said once he was outside that he was going nowhere until he got the engagement back from Erica as Erica drove off from the house.
Erica and Momma Dee both let their thoughts out on Twitter about the fight scene, Erica making it clear that she doesn’t care what Momma Dee or anyone else thinks about how things went down:

I was really disappointed in Erica she came to that dinner on edge. Momma Dee is wrong but she should have explained to Momma Dee how her actions were disrespectful and just told her how she felt. She went off without Momma Dee really saying anything and played right into Momma Dee hands. I understand she has a lot of built up but no excuse. If yall going to e mrried she have to learn how to communicate with her.I give Scrappy credit he was trying. Only one who acted with sense was Erica mama Filet Mignon.LOL

I think there was a lot of editing done. I am pretty sure Momma Dee said something that really pushed Erica. That was obvious. Regarding Erica getting her ring appraised … Women do that in order to get it insured. That is what educated, responsible people good with money do. That is what my now hubby and i did when we were engaged and knowing Scrappy he probably didnt have it insured before he gave it to Erica … That’s pretty obvious too. Scrappy however is really stepping up to his plate and exercising being a man and heading his household in the right way. When mothers don’t allow their sons to be men, they act out In ways where they may be abusive to women, have many women, cheat, have a bunch of babies. Let that man be a man and he will do it with honor. Let them control their household, if not the will pull a Steebie J and try and control women and some effect up and screwed up love triangle dibachery situation. Steebie has lost total control and Mi Mi ans Joslyn have emerged from underneath that fools puny thumb. What a looser.
Erica did exactly what Momma Dee wanted her to do…Momma Dee wanted her to act loud and foolish so she could point at her and say “See!!” to Scrappy. That wasn’t smart on her part.
Erica really disappointed me last night. I always felt like she had more class than Momma Dee, but last night she didn’t. You can’t stoop down to Momma Dee’s level.
Everyone was wrong last night. Momma Dee needs to show some respect to her son and his wife to be. Erica needs to remember that by stooping down to Momma Dee’s level she will never win and have that close family she wants. Lil Scrappy shouldn’t have pushed Erica when she started shouting. Erica’s mother should have been more involved when things went left. All in all, I was disappointed by everyone last night. I feel sorry for their daughter. No child wants to grow up in a hostile environment.
I feel you but Scrappy wasn’t pushing her to be violent. He was trying to keep her from hitting his mother. She shouldn’t have pushed him like she did. And the names she called him, “broke a-s b-tch,” really Erica?! That’s how you talk to your husband to be on TV? Smh.

Erica was definitely wrong. She made a situation worse by her behavior last night. Now she may not have her wedding, which is exactly what Momma Dee wanted.
I’m still confused as to why she went off like that. Did they edit that part out bc it just seemed like Erica was turnt up for no damn reason at the time.
If it gets to the point where I am about to put hands on his mom, or we are shouting and calling each other names, it’s a relationship I don’t need to be in. A lot of this could have been avoided if Scrappy would have done to his mom about interfering and disrespecting his woman.

I am TEAM Erica all day. Thats years of build up. Momma Dee actions towards that girl is dead wrong because she wont take on to her and call her “momma” like the othe girlfriends would do. Its clear to see momma dee only ride with you when your with her and her son BS! Erica FINALLY stood up to her and she deserved it. We only see that much on TV so imagine how much drama momma Dee has given her without those camera’s rolling!
I watched the episode 2x. I am confused as to why the conversation went left. It all started out as jokes and scrappy trying to clear the air between the two mothers. He also made it clear that he loves Erica and she is the woman that he wants to marry. Erica also mentioned that scrappy has never defended her, which we all know isn’t true because since the show has started, I have seen him defend her to his momma dee, he had already put her in her place. He even did it in front of Erica and her mom. Erica disappointed me, she was doing too much yelling and screaming for no reason. She was on ATTACK MODE!!!!!!! Erica’s mother should have stepped in and told her to respect her elders that is still Scrappys Mother. Then to tell his mom ” you wont pop off” she was out of her cotton picking mind. I totally blame her.

It isn’t obvious to see why Erica went off the way she did unless you really examine what went down at the table or you’ve been thru this crap with a weak a-s mama’s boy like I have too so I can relate. Erica was already pissed becuz of the fact that Mama Dee did what she did at the studio with Shay not to mention all the years of dealing with this BS from this crazy a-s lady. But at the table it was obvious Scrappy came there with the attitude whatever happens, I’m riding with mama. When Erica chimed in stating that Mama Dee always refers to her as a b-tch and he never says mom don’t call her a b-tch, this fool turns to his mother and says, ma don’t call my wifey a b-tch. The way he said that was so insincere and he said that to Mama Dee in such a way as to be funny, trivializing what Erica felt so passionate about, something he should have nipped in the bud long ago. Then he says oh so you’d respect it better if I curse my mama out. Clearly that’s not what she was asking of him she was only asking if you demand me to respect your mother demand she does the same for me, the mother of your child and future wife. Which is fair becuz respect is due to anyone whether you’re 25 or 95 and the title “mother” does not give you the right to treat people badly. Simple. He then goes on to refer to Erica and Mignon as muthaf*$kas, which is disrespectful and him still trying to be funny yet siding with his mother on a sly. Mama Dee chimes in putting words in Erica’s mouth saying Erica called Scrappy a p*$$y mutha so and so when she clearly stated what if my mom disrespected you and said those things. So Mama Dee putting words in her mouth and Scrappy trivializing her feelings taking up for his crazy ma on the sly is what set Erica off and I can’t say I blame her becuz Scrappy say one thing but did something altogether different to please mama. That was just human nature kicking in becuz she felt they were both attacking her and she had to defend herself. His a-s aint gonna change. She can save herself a lot of time, money and attorney fees and not marry his weak a-s.

Erica went from 0-100 in a matter of minutes! I do understand where she was coming from though. When you get disrespected for so long and you build it up, it’s only a matter of time before you explode. And Mama Dee plotted to have Erica lose her cool cause she don’t want Scrappy to be with her. Erica is far from a gold digger! Scrappy don’t have no money according to Erica (whom he’s living with in her house that she bought with her own money) & Shay (who had to put his utilities in her name)! Mama Dee need to go find her some business and stay out of her “grown” son’s business. It almost seem like she want Scrappy for herslef as her man instead of her son.
I do believe a lot of things are edited out, so we get bits and pieces. But I do agree that maybe Erica was right, not for hitting his mom but just for addressing it. It may have been better if Scrappy took it a little more seriously.

Erika is a nice and dedicated person.Scrappy is a lil boy. He listen to and does whatever his mother wants. He doesn’t care what Erika feels.His mother is jealous of Erika that is why she doesn’t want Scrappy to be with Erika. She wants Scrappy with Shay because she is a weak person. She can control Shay, but not Erika. Thats a problem for Momma. She needs to get with Shay since she loves her so much. The lady needs to stay out of Erika’s business. Erika went off because she has had enough. Scrappy’s mother is very disrespectful. If you want respect you have to give it. Erika does not have to kiss his mother’s —! Scrappy has cheated with diamond and Shay. Erika still stayed with him. She has earned respect, not only from Scrapoy, but from his mother as well. Shay needs to go and sit down somewhere because she will never get Scrappy’s heart because obviously it belongs to Erika.
