Listen: Tamar Braxton Brings the Heat with ‘The One’

Tamar Braxton might have a baby on the way and be preparing to be a first time parent, but the new addition to her family won’t be slowing down her music career any soon if she has any say so in things. Tamar’s first single “Love and War” became an immediate hit on the charts and on iTunes, so it’s clear she wants to keep up the momentum going by dropping another hit single to seal her success in R&B. Following the same footsteps as her sultry hit “Love and War,” she now releases her follow-up love song “The One.” In the new single, Tamar belts out lyrics that praise her lover over the sample of Notorious B.I.G.’s hit song “Juicy,” and her melodies match that of the Hip Hop anthem and therefore give Hip Hop heads something to look forward to.

Tamar recently sat down with Rap-Up and talked a little about the single she has labeled as a summertime anthem. She says:

“It has so much energy, it’s so fun, it’s a summertime anthem record.

“The concept of the video is just a summer throwback. It kinda gives you that feeling when you was in high school and you was with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you go to the park and you hang out and you get all cutie, and it’s just funners.”
