The Kim Kardashian and Ray J. video is the one thing many people believe is responsible for Kim Kardashian’s rise to fame. Since starring in that infamous tape with Ray J., Kim has gone on to become a big time celebrity and she’s managed to create an empire and wealth from her reality television stardom. Even though she’s had several high-profile relationships since things ended with Ray J., Kim can’t seem to get people to forget they were once a couple. Especially since there’s still that video floating around that helped her become a household name. Kim might be pregnant with Kanye’s baby and focused on walking down the aisle soon with the rapper, but Ray J. won’t let her forget he had her first. In fact, he decided to sharpen her memory of their past by putting out his latest song “I Hit it First.”
Although Ray J. attempted to at one point to downplay the fact that the song was about Kim, the album cover for the song made that pretty clear. Ray J. made a recent appearance on the Wendy Williams Show this morning, and he talked a little about that infamous video with Kim Kardashian and even claimed that despite what the public thinks, he really is over Kim. Here are the highlights of the interview.
When asked why he denied “I Hit it First” was about Kim, Ray J. says:
“I’ve never denied it. I just felt like in the promotional campaign to go so hard after you already kind of know what the song was about…I just felt like that was too much. So I let the song speak for itself.”
Wendy asked him why he won’t let his past with Kim Kardashian go, in which he responds:
“But I’ve let it go. In this new music that I’m doing, I’m starting with the past and then I’m going into the present. This is kind of like the beginning of the story. So even through all of the criticism, I understand it and I take it in a positive way. So I know there’s more to the story. I know there’s more to what we’re doing with the music.”
He even claimed that he’s now done with dating other celebrities and revealed he’s currently single:
“I’m done with the celebrity chicks. It’s too much.”
Of course Wendy had to ask him if he still owns a copy of the tape. He says:
“Nah, I don’t. I don’t. (laughs) I’m no longer an owner.”
Ray J. also revealed that he has been selected to be the host of Oxygen’s “Bad Girls Club All-Star Battle,” which premieres tonight. Check out the interview below:
Yeah. He’s not over it. You don’t keep bringing up the past if you’re over it.
Brandy, for the last time, come get your little brother. Please.
LOL.
That fool still has that damn tape. LOL.
Ugh. He’s so lame.
Yeah right
If he’s over her, why make a song about her? He’s just as thirsty for attention as Kim is.
Ummm but you been round town with Tierra Marie lately(however you spell her name)
He said they are just friends, whatever that means.
He’s just as annoying as Kim. It’s time for him to stop talking/singing about this.
Chile please…he can’t go a day without thinking about Kim. And it’s not because he still wants her, he’s just salty she was the one that became a big star and has no talent whatsoever to back it up.
#lame
Tired of this no talent having poor excuse of a man running his mouth. Go sing backup for Brandy
Ray Jay your a grown man need to grown up and stop trying to make money of exposing ex’s. I really hated for the Love ray shows so glad they didn’t to another reality show. I guess they realized in the end most of the women on the show where really immature or ended up disliking your sorry behind. Your in control of your own Destiny what kind of man are you.
