Amar’e Stoudemire may not be too happy that the season is over for his team the New York Knicks, but it appears that the NBA star does have something to be happy about. Amar’e has been pretty busy off the court adding on to his family with his wife. It’s been confirmed through multiple reports and the basketball player’s own Twitter account that he welcomed his second son into the world yesterday with his wife Alexis Welch. The couple had another baby boy and they couldn’t be more elated. The new baby puts the couple at a household consisting of four children. What better way to get through a disappointing playoff season than bringing in another baby? US Weekly reports:
Amar’e Stoudemire is now just one kid short of a basketball starting lineup. On Wednesday, May 22, the New York Knicks player announced that his wife, Alexis Welch, had given birth to the couple’s fourth child, a baby boy.
The proud dad, 30, shared the happy news via Twitter. “We are proud to announce we added a healthy baby boy to the Stoudemire team,” he tweeted. “Alexis and the baby are doing great. #Blessed.”
Together since 2002, the athlete and his wife are already parents to two daughters, Assata and Are, and son Amare. They got engaged in Paris in June 2012, when Stoudemire presented Welch with an 8.5-carat diamond. Six months later, they married in a secret sunset ceremony in New York City.
Congrats to the happy couple on their new bundle of joy.
