Jennifer Hudson American Idol judge rumors are spreading like crazy. “Idol” has surely suffered in ratings after the producers decided to cast Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Keith Urban as judges. Although Nicki was sought after due to the possibility of attracting a younger audience and bringing a little drama to the show, things went left when her beef with Mariah became an explosive one. In the end, the feud between both ladies became a major distraction from the singing competition itself, and both ladies have been rumored as not returning next season. While Keith’s future is still unclear as well, there are reports suggesting all three newbie judges will get the axe. Now there is a new report suggesting that “Idol” veteran Jennifer Hudson and other successful contestants from past seasons are being considered to return to the show as new judges. Vulture reports:

There’s a very real chance the next American Idol will be judged by a panel of former American Idols. As Fox and the production companies behind the struggling (yet still high-rated) singing show ponder changes for the 2014 edition, two people with knowledge of the situation tell Vulture that serious consideration is being given to the idea of filling one, and very possibly all, of the slots on the show’s judging panel with former Idol contestants. These sources say Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson have already been approached about the idea, and that the names of Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken are also under discussion. (Alas, Justin Guarini does not seem to be on the short list.)

Of course, nothing has been confirmed or denied by FOX as of yet regarding this new report, but we have to admit the idea could work and bring back life into a show that seems to be dying fast.

  1. I’d watch then! I love Kelly, J-Hud, and Adam Lambert. I have a feeling they aren’t going to do this though.

  2. I think it would be smart move to bring back old contestants. Who better to help than people who have done ti already? I hope they do this. This could save the show and put the attention back on the talent.

  3. This is my last chance to save this sinking ship. If people don’t watch next season, it’s a wrap folks.
