Jennifer Hudson may not have won “American Idol” when she debuted her big voice to the world several years ago, but since making an appearance on the singing competition show, she’s done quite well for herself. Not only has the R&B singer managed to become a real actress, but she’s earned an Oscar for her superb performance in hit movie “Dreamgirls.” So it makes sense that recent reports suggested the producers of “American Idol” were considering bringing her back onto the show as a judge next season, especially since their last decision to bring in superstars Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey didn’t work out too well. Just days after reports confirmed the producer’s interest in J-Hud, it’s now being reported that the singer and Oscar-winning actress is in talks/negotiations to join the panel for next season. The Hollywood Reporter writes:

“A source close to the dealings tells The Hollywood Reporter that former finalist Jennifer Hudson is in negotiations to fill one of the three seats. Vulture had previously reported that she was in the running as part of an all-alumni panel, which would also include season one winner Kelly Clarkson and possibly Clay Aiken, runner-up on season two and Celebrity Apprentice star, or Adam Lambert, who came in second on season eight.”

Interestingly enough, Kelly Clarkston’s rep is playing down the rumors and Adam Lambert’s people claim he hasn’t been contacted yet. But Jennifer Hudson’s camp isn’t talking, which leads many to believe that if the money is right, a confirmation about her joining the show will arrive to the press very soon.

We honestly think this could work.

  1. This needs to happen! What better person to judge contestants than a former contestant? Makes sense!

  2. I’d watch. This is my girl. And honestly, she is one of the most talented people to come from American Idol. She’s very qualified to be a judge.

  3. As much as I love Jen, I’m not even sure if she could save this sinking ship. The Voice is just better.

  4. She is serious about her money. This girl stays busy. She needs to make some more music though. Her voice is off the chain.
