Andre 3000’s Mother Passes Away on His Birthday

Andre 3000 mother dies? Rapper Andre 3000 is clearly one half of the reason why Outkast is considered one the best Hip Hop/Rap groups of all time. In fact, the Atlanta raised music duo has created so much classic music that it has fans still anxiously awaiting for another studio album. However, it’s been made clear on several occasions that Andre 3000 and Big Boi just aren’t on the same page musically these days, and both are uncertain if and when a new album will become part of their plans musically. In the meantime, Andre has gotten serious in acting and also stacking up endorsement deals as a result of his eccentric fashion sense and he continues to make dope features on the tracks of other artists. Unfortunately for the rapper, what was supposed to be a great 38th birthday to celebrate all of the success he continues to have in his career in music, acting, and fashion became a tragic day because it’s the same day his mother passed away. Billboard reports:

Andre “3000” Benjamin’s mother Sharon Benjamin-Hodo has passed away, a representative for the musician and actor confirms to Billboard.

Benjamin-Hodo was the founder and guiding force of The Starlight Camp for underprivileged children, which she ran out of the New Morning Light Missionary Baptist Church in Conley, GA — the church of her husband, Pastor Robert Hodo.

According to unconfirmed reports, she was found dead in her Atlanta home on what was her son’s 38th birthday.

It’s important that we mention some reports are claiming Andre’s mom died a day after his birthday, while some are saying she passed away on his actual birthday. At the time, the cause of death is also unknown. But the entire staff of Urban Belle is sending our condolences to Three Stacks and his entire family at such a devastating time.
