The Smith Family has been a victim of the media for quite sometime now, especially since parent Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith are no longer the most famous figures of the family. Now both of their children Willow and Jaden are stars in their own right, and both have managed to become the target of intense criticism independent from their parents. When people aren’t speculating the end of Will and Jada’s marriage, they are slamming their parenting styles, and accusing them of pimping out their own children. Will and Jada of course disagree with these beliefs, and instead feel they only provided their kids with a platform to do what they are passionate about for a living. As a result of what Will feels is such a big misunderstanding on how he raises his kids, the actor blames the slavery mentality for why black people don’t understand it. But we’re sure he’s still not thrilled that some people are even comparing his family’s way of doing things to the Kardashian family, and judging by the shade he just threw the K’s, it’s obvious the thought doesn’t sit too well with him.
In an interview with Vulture, things went left. It all started when Jaden was first asked if he thinks his family is similar or different from the Kardashians, especially since he’s rumored to be dating Kylie Jenner. After Will told him not to answer the question and told the interviewer he’s (Jaden) never had to answer questions like that one before, he decided to tackle the question for his son. Will says to the interviewer:
“[Mimicking] ‘So how do you think your life is similar or un-similar to people’s names in Calabasas?’ For our family, the entire structure of our life, our home, our business relationships—the entire purpose is for everyone to be able to create in a way that makes them happy. Fame is almost an inconsequential by-product of what we’re really trying to accomplish. We are trying to put great things into the world, we’re trying to have fun, and we’re trying to become the greatest versions of ourselves in the process of doing things we love. So the idea of fame or exploitation or orchestrating the media is sometimes even less than desirable for us.”
Ouch. Shade indeed.
Damn! He read the interviewer and the Kardashians with intelligence. I love it!
LMAO!!!!! You better shade Will!!!!! Yasss!!!!!!
While I do enjoy the evident shade Will just threw Kim and her entire family, I have to question why Will would allow his kids to hang out and date people he feels exploit themselves for fame. I mean it’s clear in this interview that he doesn’t respect what they do. So why let them hang around your kids and influence them? IJS.
But why are you letting your son hang out with those Kardashians then.
I am pretty sure the interviewer was just trying to bait Jaden, ironically Will was the one who fell for it. Everyone with a brain knows there’s just no comparisons. Only one person in the Kardashian/Jenner clan has any kind of talent and that’s Bruce. Everyone else is self-centered, talentless fame whores. I blame Kris though.
Hilarious but why let Jaden date that skank in training? We all know her mom is training her to be the next Kim. Smh.
Well Will and Jada are the same people who said they refuse to treat their kids like objects/slaves. They want them to make their own choices. So they probably wouldn’t forbid them to hang with anyone. Even the Kardashians. But that doesn’t mean they like it. LOL.
When asked if he (Jaden) dates Kylie Jenner in another interview he said:That they are only friends and that she wen t to the places where he was (like New York, London), meaning that she is stalking him….She learn from the best……
That interviewer tried it. He/she knew what they were doing.
Hilarity. Now get those trifling people away from your kids. ASAP.
Kris Jenner weeps…
You’d have to be an idiot to think the Smiths can be compared to the Kardashian’s non-talented a-ses.
LOL. I love it. But I’d love it even more if he stopped kicking it with them.
I’m shocked Will actually took the bait. He knows better than that. Seems like to me he just wanted to take the opportunity to express how he really feels about the Kardashians.
Agree
