Rihanna is clearly having an impeccable career and without a doubt one of today’s biggest stars in music, so it makes sense that the singer would consider taking on opportunities outside of music.  Not only does she have her very own fashion collection through River Island, but she also has a lipstick with makeup giant MAC Cosmetics. While Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to partner with MAC, her success with the company is pretty extreme already. On the first day the lipstick was made available on line, the product sold out online in three hours. Although the lipstick did great in sales, it now appears it’s at the center of a new lawsuit. According to reports, a woman from Harlem claims she contracted Herpes shortly after testing the product at a pop up shop at the singer’s Barclay concert. The New York Daily News reports:

A Harlem woman claims in a lawsuit that she got herpes at a Rihanna concert in Brooklyn from lipstick the singer endorsed.

Starkeema Greenidge, 28, alleges she contracted the virus when a representative of MAC Cosmetics applied a used tube of RiRi Woo to her smackers.

“I wasn’t able to work for two weeks. It cost me a lot of money,” Greenidge, a waitress, told the Daily News on Wednesday.

She said she slapped MAC with the suit in Manhattan Supreme Court in hopes of forcing the company to be more sanitary in the future. Greenidge also said the company should train its employees to use disposable tubes or swabs to apply the lipstick.”

…“(MAC) didn’t use a fresh or new lipstick tube, but rather one that had been used for other patrons,” the suit charges.

  1. Uhh, if she knew that it’s not sanitary to just directly use the lipstick (which she claims in this suit), sounds like she has just as much fault as MAC does. I wouldn’t dare let someone put lipstick on me and they didn’t take the proper measures.

  2. Gross. I doubt she contracted Herpes from the lipstick though. Did they put it directly on her lips? Because I’ve never seen them do that. When I go to the store, they use a disposable applier/brush, and throw it away after putting it on people.

  3. I haven’t ever seen MAC workers ever put the lipstick directly on a customer before. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, but if it did, she should have told them not to do it. There’s no way I’d allow that. She has some responsibility.

  4. You don’t let people put stuff on you without you knowing where it came from. I never test makeup. I just buy it. if it doesn’t look good, oops.

  5. GIRL BYE! ! Everybody knows that you aren’t supposed to use lipsticks bare on your lips if its not in the case. thats YOUR MESS-UP !! DASSIT! You been had herpes lmfao
