The Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim beef continues. When it comes to the female rap scene, it’s pretty obvious Young Money leading lady Nicki Minaj has that covered and she’s reigning as the most successful one to ever do it at this point, considering she’s filthy rich and has managed to cross over like no other female emcee has ever been able to do through their music. Despite all her success, Nicki hasn’t managed to reignite the unity female rappers once had back in the day, and some feel it’s because she’s divided the industry by taking what many believe is little shots at female rappers who came before her. And that’s the reason Lil Kim isn’t a fan of Nicki’s and over the years, both have been going back and forth with insults. Kim even claims Nicki owes her for her success because she copied her “Barbie” image to become a big star and secure a huge fan base. Of course Nicki doesn’t see things that way and both haven’t yet made peace with each other since their public falling out. But in a recent interview with Hot 97, Nicki claims she has love for Lil Kim and she’s over the beef.
On beef, Nicki says:
“I don’t have beef with anybody, let me just say that too. Life is too short. Nothing is ever that serious. Not with you (Peter Rosenberg), not with other artists, nobody.”
On other female rappers, Nicki actually admitted Lil Kim is one of her favorites:
“Foxy [Brown], [Lil] Kim, Lauryn [Hill], and then Remy [Ma]. You know when Remy came out, I was very, very excited about her. They were all from New York too. It’s no disrespect to any other female rappers, but those are the ones that I felt like, ‘Ok, yeah. I could get into that.’ They sounded like me when I spoke, and I just thought they really made an impact.”
It didn’t take too long before Lil Kim’s fans alerted her about Nicki’s comments. Although the comments were positive, Kim and her fans seem to think Nicki is just trying to use Kim for media attention. Lil Kim didn’t say anything, but her retweets were pretty clear (read the tweets from top to bottom):

Kim and her fans are very delusional. Nicki doesn’t need Kim to get press. I mean the only time we hear about Kim is her terrible plastic surgery, beef with Nicki, and when she talks about Faith/Biggie. She was a great rapper but her ego is out of this world for no reason. When’s the last time she had a hit?

Lil Kim is very childish and catty. The beef is old and lame. Let it go and move on. Hating Nicki won’t maker her career get any better.

I love Kim but she is wildin’. She knows damn well Nicki doesn’t need her to get any press. She is one of the biggest stars in music right now. We’re only talking about her now because of Nicki. Smh.
Kim should have just accepted the olive branch. The whole situation makes her look bitter and jealous of Nicki’s success. That’s the thing I don’t like about Kim. She doesn’t know how to let things go. She won’t let her “beef” with Faith go, her past with Biggie go, or this feud with Nicki go. And it’s not hurting anyone but herself. She looks like a washed up rapper who wants to hold on to the past. You stop your own blessings when you live in the past.
Why is Kim still on this?
Kim is washed up and lame. Any chick that had to destroy her face/blackness to feel better for herself is dead to me.
I gave up on Kim a while ago. The petty beefs, dumb grudges, and terrible plastic surgery has turned me off. She can hate on Nicki all day but Nicki is handling her business, something Lil Kim hasn’t done in years. Be mad at yourself Kim.
