Kanye West has a new album dropping next month, and if there’s any truth to the latest reports, it hasn’t been an easy road for the superstar rapper. In fact, even the album’s title alone has caused a huge controversy as it’s been confirmed that he’s decided to title it “Yeezus.” Before that confirmation hit the press, it was rumored the album’s title would be “I Am God.” Later, Kanye’s camp shut down the reports, and instead said the he has a single named “I Am a God,” and he would never be so arrogant to title his album such. We’re thinking there’s some truth to that report though considering “Yeezus” isn’t exactly humble either. Although Kim Kardashian and others close to the rapper suggested his album cover was a clear case that featured a gold Jesus piece and red tape that simply says “Yeesus,” the rapper took to his website yesterday to reveal a new album cover:

There’s a lot of tea brewing about Kanye and his new album right now. So let’s get into what we’ve heard in the last 24 hours.

A little birdie told Urban Belle Kanye is now on his third album cover for this release. This is the official one, but the birdie says the cover with him being on a makeshift cross shaped as a Y was his first choice allegedly. However, the label told him they couldn’t cosign that considering big retailers like Target and Walmart would not sell the album with a controversial cover that depicts him as Jesus. So Kanye’s next album cover choice was the clear CD, with a gold Jesus piece, and red tape with “Yeesus” on it. However, that cover was met with mixed reactions, and once again the rapper was told to go back to the drawing board. Some even say he was furious with Kim for posting the cover on her Instagram account.

Kanye is also rumored to be so frustrated with everything that the New York Post claims he had to go back to the studio because he thought his first two songs, “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead” would get more praise. Unfortunately for Kanye, the songs are also being met with mixed reactions, something Kanye just isn’t used to. So it’s being reported he is hard at work in hopes to make a couple of commercially appealing singles.

This new album cover (or lack thereof) is also said to be a product of Kanye’s frustrations of the other two getting shut down. While all of this is just gossip for now, we do have to wonder if the recent confirmed mishaps involving his failed publicity stunt is a sign of more troubles to come.

  1. Sounds like Kanye needs to go back to the drawing board completely. He’s at the point now where shock value is more important than the music. Smh.

  2. This cover is a prime example of one of Kanye West’s b-tch fits. Obviously, he wanted to name his album “I am God” and be crucified on a cross for his album cover and Universal and their share holders shut that blasphemous down. How can they place this album on the shelves of Wal-Mart in the Bible Belt and the Midwest and not piss out white middle america?

  3. He went too far with the Jesus stuff this time. It’s going to hurt him in the end. Can’t play with God.

    1. Exactly. And besides that, the new music sucks. He’s feeling himself too much and his music isn’t even as good as it used to be.

  4. Kanye is getting Lazy. This ain’t art! I don’t care what ‘Ye stan or smelly hipster has to say about this either.

  5. What is wrong with this man? Maybe he’s still mourning his mother but it just seems like it’s way more to it than that.
