More news regarding the latest 2 Chainz robbery drama. As we reported recently, the rapper was robbed in broad daylight on the streets of San Francisco this past weekend. Despite the police confirming the robbery, 2 Chainz still took to his Twitter account to deny that he and his crew were robbed. However, TMZ pretty much shut that down quickly with video proof thanks to a few surveillance cameras. Now that just about everyone has seen the footage, it’s pretty obvious 2 Chainz lied about not being robbed because he knew people would clown him and his crew for running away from the criminals.

Interestingly enough, 2 Chainz has decided to be real now about what went down and in his recent interview with Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9, he defends running away from the robbers. He tells Emperor Searcy:

“I saw the gun first. It was like a .357. It was so heavy he couldn’t really hold it. The gun was so big. That’s what made me take off running. … When I went into the street, there was another dude with a whole ‘nother gun. … That’s when I knew it wasn’t like an episode of Punk’d. I was like this is real…I had bullet fragments in my hair…I think he thought he shot me. … I’m just excited about life. I’m so turnt up, you can’t turn me down. … I’m just geeked about life. Then when I saw the footage, I’m like it was real. They was on my a*s! This was a sign. That’s all it was. I come from this.”

  1. He honestly doesn’t have to defend why he ran. It annoys me that so many people are clowning this guy for running. Most of them would have done the same thing. It’s easy to say what you would do if you have never been in the situation.

  2. Had he just told the truth when it all happened, I don’t think people would be making so much fun of him now.

  3. It’s not really that big of a deal. Most people understand why he ran. I think he just made the wrong decision to deny he was robbed. it just made a not so serious thing (he wasn’t hurt) get more attention.

  4. Most people would have ran. I just think people find this funny because he talks so tough in his music and then tried to lie about it all on Twitter. Then the video was released and made him look even more lame. LOL.

  5. I don’t fault him for running at all. He obviously didn’t want to die. But he’s the one that got on Twitter and denied everything. That’s pretty much when people started going in. No need to try to keep up an image that isn’t true to you.
