Jay-Z has pretty much proven himself to be much more than a rapper. In fact, he’s grown into a savvy business man, and with his recent business venture Roc Nation Sports already taking off much faster than most sports agents can keep up, it looks like Jay-Z has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. As we recently reported, he is taking a cue from his wife Beyonce’s playbook and reportedly inking a multimillion dollar deal with Electronics heavyweight Samsung. The New York Post speculated a deal was in the works a couple of weeks ago. The publication wrote:
Jay-Z is about to ink a hugely lucrative deal with Samsung Mobile, sources tell Page Six. The contract is said to be worth as much as $20 million. One source said, “The eight-figure deal will be inked in the next few weeks, and is the biggest of its kind. You can speculate that he’ll want to develop some kind of new music-streaming service to promote his acts and music on mobile devices.”
Well it looks like the deal between Jay-Z and Samsung may have just gotten confirmed. In fact, Urban Belle just got an invite alerting us of a major announcement going down on Sunday. Check it out:
Sounds like this could be a major partnership between Jay-Z and Samsung. While we won’t know the specifics until Sunday at 9:15 EST during the NBA Finals, if it has anything to do with Jigga, we expect it to be a pretty big deal.
Update: In a new commercial sponsored by Samsung, Jay-Z has confirmed “Magna Carta Holy Grail” as his upcoming album’s title. In the new partnership with Samsung, Jay and the tech company will send out the album “for free” to one million lucky users on a unique app that can be downloaded on select Samsung devices.
The Magna Carta app will be available for download on June 24, and it will also give users a closer glimpse on the making of the new album. Jay has agreed to share his personal stories and inspiration behind the new music. The app can also be shared with other Galaxy owners on Facebook, Twitter, and S Beam.
As far as the album details are concerned, July 7th is the release date, but those with the app will be able to get it on the 4th of July.
