The Chris Bosh baby mama drama continues. As we recently reported, Miami Heat star Bosh has been heavily involved in a nasty child support battle with his ex girlfriend Allison Mathis. Allison has been fighting hard in the court to get an increase in her $2600 a month child support payments, and Chris Bosh caught a break and was able to get the judge to agree the monthly payment would remain the same and was deemed enough for Allison to take care of their daughter. Of course Allison’s lawyer has requested an appeal on the court’s decision, especially since Bosh won only because he was able to prove his Texas residency, a claim he may have weakened since he just claimed several days ago that Miami will always be his home.
It now appears Bosh plans to fight back against an increase in child support by challenging the custody arrangements. According to TMZ, he has now filed paperwork to request primary custody of their 4-year-old daughter. The website reports:
Bosh has filed legal docs asking a judge to strip his ex, Allison Mathis, of primary physical custody of Trinity.
Bosh claims Mathis has been trying to alienate the kid from him … blocking contact, refusing to let them travel together, and poisoning their daughter against him.
Bosh wants primary physical custody, but says he’s more than willing to give Mathis her fair share of mother-daughter time in the form of visitation.
Mathis has fired back in her own legal docs, saying his complaints are BS.

How exactly do you know this ma’am. Do you know his motivation for doing any of this? You’re making a TON of assumptions in a very small space. Do you have any proof to bolster these accusations? Do you understand what this man does for his child outside of the court ordered support? Please research what this young man does on top of the court ordered support. I understand #teamwoman, I really do. However it’s misguided in this instance. Is it not possible that these this woman is not the best possible parent for their child?

I’m not taking a side. And I refuse to because common sense tells me I shouldn’t. I think Chris and Allison are both acting childish and in the end, the kid is who will suffer the most from their actions. Children don’t want to see their parents hate each other. This little girl will grow up and be screwed up. Grown people need to get it together.

Let’s look at the things that Chris Bosh does ON TOP OF the $2,600.00 a month in ‘child support shall we:
1. He handles all medical expenses.
2. He handles all insurance (Medical and Dental and NOT court ordered)
3. He has created and contributes to the child’s college fund.
4. He pays for all extra curricular activities.
5. He has created and funds the child’s trust fund.
6. He pays for all preschool expenses (of the mother’s choice no less)
7. He pays for all transportation to and from the visits that he is allowed.
So what is Allison paying for? What is there left? Rent (she spent the lump sum that Bosh provided initially for housing to take vacations), Utilities and Food… I’m quite certain that $2,600.00 can cover food and utilities for both of them per month.
Also… She failed to mention the $250k Bosh gave her of his own free will (the lump sum I was referring to earlier).
So Bosh wants his old heaux (who smashed Lil Wayne) to raise his DAUGHTER. I’m sure she’ll teach her how to properly gold dig.

This is so stupid to me. I hope the judge throws out his paperwork and tells both of them to get over themselves. Increase the child support slightly and make sure Chris is seeing his child on a continuous basis. Problem solved.

HOWEVER the rest of the individuals involved here want to make sure that this man is paying 30K a month in CS as well as being a 4 day a month parent. They don’t care one whit about the child. There is no proof that Allison is a bad mother. This is about not paying child support anymore. But hey, this is the new thing these famous men are pulling in court.
Lets be honest here, Allison created this situation by even letting it get to a point where she could lose custody. Feel free to correct me where I’m wrong:
-She has already unwisely spent that initial lump sum of $$ Bosh gave her.
-Allison refused Bosh’s offer to help her further her education.
-She hasn’t found employment in how many years? Honestly was she actually looking?
-Her house is on the verge of foreclosure.
Didn’t Allison take 13+ vacations in under a year? Who’s funding that?
Doesn’t she have 3+ able bodied adults living under her roof? Who’s funding that?
There are extenuating circumstances here.
I don’t know what I was doing to miss this long debate. But I must know one thing here — what did Allison spend that lump sum of $250,000 on? I heard from her camp that she is now unemployed and I am suspecting she used that money to buy a house that she may be underwater on.
Either way, I would hope Chris and Allison could reach a settlement and get this mess out of the public eye.
Not for nothing… The issue is simple to resolve. $2,600.00 a month is not enough in my opinion. I get that. The issue is the adversarial Child Support system. I’m almost positive that if they were asking for $7,000.00 to $10,000.00 a month ($10,000.00 is a nice round figure) it would not be as much of an issue but $30,000.00 is entirely too much to raise any child. The position he is being placed in is either pay $2,600.00 or $30,000.00. What would either of you do if faced with that option?
Exactly… you’d fight for $2,600 too because while you’re making 16M per annum today, you only have another 7 or so years in the NBA then those amounts disappear. $30,000.00 a month is 360K a year. That’s a lot of money for a child.
It should DEFINITELY be increased but because the increase is so drastic it forces a man who by all accounts is a decent guy overall to be an arse because the alternative is to pay an amount that while currently manageable will be unwieldy in 10 years. Neither Chris nor his ex are at fault, it’s the adversarial Child Support system that pits mothers and fathers against one another at the expense of the child.
It would be beautiful if they could both behave with maturity and respect and come to a mutual understanding.

Adrienne is vapid, I have read articles when she was trying to model where she was quoted as saying her goals is to be famous and that people always ask if she is Venezuelan because she is so beautiful and Venezuelans are the most beautiful people, and that was a direct quote. Everyday is a photoshoot. I apologize for being as vociferous as I’ve been in this particular debate. I understand that the mother of their child is close to you and at the end of the day I want win-win resolutions for all parties. I mean you nor anyone else any harm. While our opinions may differ, I ultimately want what’s best for everyone. That road may be painful but I believe that it can be traversed with patience, faith and maturity and that ultimately it will be worth it. I wish you and your friend well.

I’m not one to believe everything the media reports, nor what lawyers say. The only people who know the truth are Chris and Allison. And honestly, who really cares who is right and who is wrong here? That little girl loves both of her parents. Look at her sweet little face. They need to drop these court battles, and agree to terms that will be fair to the both of them. Kids hate to see their parents fight. My mom’s parents divorced when she was grown and she’s still not over it. Neither are her siblings. The fights stick with your kids. That little girl deserves more. Good luck to them all.
You, IJS, are a breath of fresh air. I personally agree. I believe that they should each stop all court proceedings WITH PREJUDICE (this means that they cannot go back to court again over this issue) and that Chris Bosh should have joint custody of his daughter and that he should pay child support in the amount of 10K per month PLUS handle all of the expenses that he’s currently handling. After he retires from the NBA the amount for child support should drop to 7K a month.
I want a win win situation for ALL parties including the child. So many people here only want the father to pay. That’s not fair to the mother, the father or the child. Thank you for coming into the discussion with an open mind and with compassion in your heart.
Before you decide to have a child with someone you have to address how they will be raised and what will happen if you choose to go separate ways. One thing that I don’t like that I heard is that Chris Bosh left Allison when she was pregnant. I think that is being a coward because pregnant women already go through enough carrying a life. Unless his life was in danger he should have stayed at least 6 months after she had the baby. But on to the issue at hand; If Allison is an unfit mother and Chris has proof I don’t see anything wrong with going for primary custody better safe than sorry. If and that is a big if Allison is down talking Chris around their child or denying him visiting rights that is not right. In my opinion though if Allison is not an unfit mother Chris shouldn’t be going for primary custody out of spite because with his schedule as a NBA player he is on the road a lot and wouldn’t be able to spend a lot of quality time wit her. I think the reason that Allison is getting that amount is because she was never married to Chris. I think with the money that Chris is making that it could be increased. If he is indeed paying for medical, dental, and extracurricular activities for his daughter I commend him. The best thing to do is never have a baby without a ring. I never see a reason why a child should be taken away his or her mother unless they are an unfit parent and neglecting and abusing the child. There have been several celebrity cases in the past couple of years where the father was rewarded primary custody of their child and in most cases the man was the breadwinner. Steve Harvey, D. Wayde, and Usher all have primary custody of their children they have with their ex-wives. I still can’t fathom how Usher got primary custody of his two children with his ex-wife Tameka.
My thing is, depending on why she’s asking for increased child support, I’d want custody of my child too. There comes an issue of being used here, and even for men, there’s only so much they can take. I understand he’s a celebrity, but beyond all that, he’s human, and I’m sure he has limits. I agree that co-parenting is very much the better solution. However, when that’s unrealistic, or rather, impossible at the moment, then what? I just don’t think it’s fair to assume he’s doing this out of spite, or even that he’s going to pay the judge off. Yes, children belong with their mothers. But they also belong with their fathers. And just as there are fathers out here that don’t live up to the role of being a parent, there are mothers that fit that bill just as well. No good results can come from bad intentions, and that is applicable to them both. For the child’s sake, I hope this situation gets resolved quickly and respectfully.
