Kanye’s new album seems to be a hit or miss depending on who you talk to, and even music industry insiders are claiming his 328k in first week sales aren’t impressive for an artist who’s been getting as much press as he has. While there are several theories as to why “Yeezus” didn’t crack the 500k mark in first week sales, Kanye seems to take pride in the fact that he doesn’t have an official single for the album and no official album cover. However, it’s quite possible by neglecting these two things that what seemed genius to him at first may be hurting his album sales. In fact, second week sales show Kanye’s new album is quickly losing steam while J. Cole’s new album “Born Sinner” is increasing in popularity. According to the projections for next week, J. Cole is posed to beat out Kanye in second week sales while Wale’s new album “The Gifted” will sale over 100k its first week. Hits Daily Double reports:

Wale will debut at #1 next week, as Rap holds the top three spots for a second week. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend:

  1. People don’t like the new music Kanye is putting out. He pulled too many gimmicks for that music to be as bad as it is. I’m glad J. Cole will have a good second week though.

  2. That’s a decent first week for Wale. Does anyone else see the trend? Kanye is about to start getting outdone by these young rappers. Hilarious!

  3. Could it be that Kanye is falling off? I wonder how the arrogant douche will respond to this little piece of news.

    1. What proof that you have Kanye is falling off? Mind you that people not named Taylor Swift, Jay-Z or Justin Timberlake are selling more than what Yeezus did in its first week.

        1. I think what they’re trying to say is that no one other than the people named sold more than Kanye in their first week, which may be true.

That being said, to answer your question: The proof that Kanye is falling off is evidenced by his DROP in sales. He may have sold more than everyone else in the first week, but I guarantee that is mostly based on his past reputation. When you think of who Kanye USED to be as an artist, he developed a very solid fan base, which included myself. However, this is the lowest number he’s ever had in sales for a new album. The sales are dropping and the fan base is decreasing. Numbers don’t lie and that’s where your proof is.

  4. J.Cole had the better album then Kanye so he should out sell Kanye. Wale has a good album. I love his new song love hate thing.
