Kanye West’s new album was originally projected to crack first week sales of 500k, but in the end newer projections would be deemed more accurate as the rapper actually sold 328k copies of “Yeezus” in its first week of release. Although Kanye engaged in a guerrilla marketing campaign which consisted of him playing songs while projecting his face on random buildings throughout the country, some industry insiders suggested he should have sold a lot more albums. The album has received mostly stellar reviews from music critics, but consumers have already taken to their Twitter accounts to air out their confusion and disappointment with Kanye’s new music which is heavily drowned out with political messages and fists of rage for the paparazzi and being famous, something many feel makes Kanye look like a big hypocrite.

Interestingly enough, the producer of the album, Rick Rubin, says there could be a “Yeezus” part two considering Kanye seems to want to take the remaining songs that got left off the album and turn them into another full record. Rubin tells The Daily Beast:

“Before he even asked me to work on it, I said, ‘Maybe you should make it more concise. Maybe this is two albums. Maybe this is just the first half.

“That was one of the first breakthroughs. Kanye was like, ‘That’s what I came here today to hear! It could be 10 songs!” Asked if that means a second half to Yeezus might be on its way, Rubin replied: ‘Maybe.’”

  1. For what? He’s just going to flop if he does. He’s really making some stupid career decisions.
